Howdy everyone,

I hope everyone is having nice weather like we are. It's just gorgeous outside today.

So, I have a couple dozen of these UV anodized Titanium Mini BrewDrivers ready. I also have blue, plain stonewashed, green, gold and a couple of rainbow ones so if you want one of those colors instead just put it in the comments field or email me. These are $65 plus shipping.

UV are sold out, a few stragglers available in green, rose gold and blue though so please email me if you want one. Thank you!

More Titanium Wroaches!

Happy Weekend again Folks!

I have the remaining plain stonewashed Titanium Wroaches finished. These handy little pocket tools feature a prytip with wire stripper notch, flat screwdriver, bottle opener, acetylene B tank wrench, 5/16 bit holder, 1/4 bit holder and oxygen wrench which doubles as a lanyard opening. Stout rubber O-rings provide a comfortable grip. Overall length is 3.5".

Wroaches are $75 plus shipping. This is a very small batch, about 30 pieces, so one per customer please, thanks.

Overseas customers: Please note, Priority Mail International shipments may be slow to arrive and there is no actual tracking available. I provide that option for folks who understandably do not want to pay the high rate for Express Mail. For this sale however I'll also give the option for 3-5 day delivery via Express Mail International. Note: latest mail delivery times seem to be pretty much back to normal.

Sold out, thank you folks!

International Delays

Hi folks,

I've been hearing from a bunch of folks overseas and in Canada who have ordered stuff in the past month and who are still waiting for it to show up. I think there have been some cutbacks at the post offices and also perhaps customs issues. Just be patient, it will get there.

I have seen it take a month or more for items to show up when shipped via Priority International. Unfortunately there is no real tracking with that form of shipping. I use it because I don't think most people really want to pay $30 for a small tool shipped via Express Mail...although it does have tracking and is guaranteed to get there in 3-5 days. But it seems like an awful lot of money for a $50 item for instance.

Anyhow, for those of you still waiting, just hang on. Hardly anything goes missing forever. For my next sale I may give a third ordering option for Express Mail International for those who don't mind paying the extra.

UPDATE: I have someone checking into it further but no promises that they can do too much else on the tracing because once it hits customs in a foreign country that's it. But it appears that two different days of shipments are affected, one was a Ghost sale and the other was the Raw Bar Superbug sale.

Update 4/19: Just received word that one missing package just showed up in Germany where it had been held up in customs. I suspect this is the case with all the slow ones...And of course, it goes without saying, but anything shipping to Europe this week will no doubt be delayed due the volcano.

Mini Lanslide with Racing Stripes

Update: Titanium beads are winding down although I do have a couple more designs coming. But it's time to turn my attention back to other projects. Steel G2 Superbugs are almost ready for heat treat and will be going out later this week to start that finishing process. Titanium Wroaches will probably be finished next week.

Alrighty then, I have some more of these little guys done today. These have a bright smooth finish on them with two simple racing stripes. Perfect for smaller tools and side zippers. On stretchy black shock cord. Thanks for stopping by!

Sold out for now, thank you!!

More Mini Rifle Knurl Lanslides

Hi folks,

Got some more of the Mini Rifle Knurl Lanslides done! These are the same length as previous Lanslides just slightly smaller diameter. Because the proportions are different and with the lack of pinstripe they appear longer than the big ones. They make a really a nice accent for jacket side pockets or for smaller tools. A plain version without knurling and with two racing stripes will be coming in another day or two.

Another change with this batch is my use of stretchy shock cord instead of the usual paracord. It's a little more work for me to finish and I'm not sure I'll use it all the time but it makes for a nice change. Great material.

The price on these is the same as the others, $15 plus shipping, since they are costing me the same to produce with the same amount of work involved.

Mini Rifles are gone, thank you!

Satin Lanslides with 5 Dot Pattern

Hey Everyone,

Next up are the 5 Dot Lanslides. I love the look of these, simple and elegant. There are quite a few of them and about half the batch is on blue cord and the other half on tan or brown cord. As always, thanks for stopping by. :)

These are gone for now, thank you!

Blue Lanslides with Rifle Knurl

Howdy all,

Nice evening for a blue Lanslide sale dontcha think? :)

I've run out of some cord colors so I'm using up all my misc cord colors these next few days. These are tan in this batch and several other colors will be coming.

Blue are gone. I will have more styles though tomorrow. Thank you as always!

Lanslides: Rose Gold Rifle Knurl

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a pleasant and relaxed Easter weekend.

I did a bit of work on Saturday and have the first of the anodized Lanslides completed. These have a warm rose gold anodized color on them with ultraviolet blush highlights over a satin finish. They are $15, same as the plain ones.

Gold ones are gone, blue will be next once I get them done. Thank you!

Lanslides with Rifle Knurl

Hi Folks,

So, I have some satin finish rifle knurled Lanslides done. This wave is just a portion of them and I'll be finishing lots more in the next day or so...many many more are coming. I'll do some anodized colors in the next waves as well....I almost hate to color them because these plain satin ones look so darned good. :)

Sold out for now, more tomorrow or Saturday. Thank you!

Lanslides

Well good evening folks! I thought maybe a little evening sales action would be a good idea to start these off. :)

The Atwood Lanslides are large titanium beads turned from 1/2" titanium bar stock and feature a variety of decorative knurls and finishes. Can be used as zipper pulls, lanyards, on bracelets, etc. They come with a simple cord for immediate attachment to a zipper or incorporate into your own fancy lanyard work.

One note, please don't ask me to hold beads for you so you can save on shipping. I'll go nuts if I have to keep track of overly complex orders on these. I have many of these coming and there will be different ones available as time goes on but I simply can't hold orders, thanks for understanding.

The first wave has diamond knurl and plain satin finish. These are $15 each plus shipping.

Sold out but many more coming tomorrow. Thank you!

Boo Again!

And the hauntings continue... :) This last wave of S30v steel Ghosts have a brushed satin finish.

Sold out, thank you very much!

Monday, March 29, 2010

Boo!

Happy rainy Monday. It's drizzling here today, cold and dank. Good day for working...

I have a bunch of S30v steel Ghosts done. These have my antique satin finish on them. Old timers may recognize this one as I used to do it a lot years ago. It's a semi matte gunmetal looking surface and buttery smooth somewhere in between brushed, bead blasted and tumbled and in fact it takes all those operations to get to this. Instant antiques. Your grandfather would have loved it. :)

Sold Out! Thanks very much folks, I have another round of these to finish up so another big load are on the way soon.

Stonewashed Ghosts

Howdy Folks,

Alrighty then, I have gotten some of the Ghosts done. The rest of the wave will be coming in a few days. These have a smooth stonewashed finish and will be $50 plus shipping.

These are sold out for now but more will be coming in a few days. Thank you!

Friday Update

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to let you know that I did not get my stonewashed Ghosts back from heat treat today like I expected so it will be early next week before I have another sale. Just as well because I have yard work and spring clean up chores to do this weekend... so enjoy the nice weather and have a great weekend. ;)

Thanks,

Peter

G2 Superbugs with Raw Bar Finish

Howdy Folks!

I have a couple dozen of these Raw Bar G2 Superbugs available. This tool is a bit larger than last year's version measuring in at over 3/4" wide and 3.5" long. The material is S30v steel and they are a full 5/32 in thickness so they are quite substantial. I have added an Oxygen wrench as the lanyard hole and an Acetylene B tank wrench as the "eye" of the creature. I decided to beef up the cap lifter by making it a round opening and dispensing with the former hex opening which was not as strong. I did a lot of hand finishing work on these.

Since there's only a small number in this batch it will be a one per customer sale. These are $65 plus shipping and the link is below:

Sold Out, thank you!

Happy Friday Everyone! Nice to see the end of the week. I'm looking forward to Daylight Savings Time kicking in on Sunday which means that Spring is right around the corner.

Well, today I have some more of the titanium Mini BrewDrivers finished, this time with green anodizing.

Sold out for now but more will be coming soon. Thank you!

If I look like I've seen a ghost...

...it's probably because I have! :)

I have a limited number of these Raw Bar Ghosts available. It is not at all common but every once in a while I'm able to preserve some pieces with this outstanding textured finish on them. There aren't a whole lot of them so I need to keep it to one per customer. The price is $55 plus shipping.

Sold Out, thank you!

Last of the WingNuts

OK, I have a couple dozen WingNuts left and then that is the end of the batch. These have a lovely smooth gunmetal looking patina on them, the result of sanding and bead blasting followed by many hours of tumbling.

Sold Out, thank you!

Ghost Drawings

Wanna see where this design came from? I had originally been thinking of making a larger prytool and then trying to use the inside waste cutout to give me a two for one kind of tool shape. But the more I thought about it I decided to not do the big tool but just try the smaller one. Because after all, I am most interested in the smaller tools myself. The Ghosts are 2.5" long.

Anyway, I liked the outcome but then I started playing with variations of it. I ended up deciding to go with the most complicated of the drawings and trying a new edge treatment. I may make the variation drawings too at some point....you can see my doodlings, eraser marks and my brainstorming for names, none of which ended up being used. :)

G2 SuperBug Sneak Peek

Here's a quick mockup of the coming G2 SuperBug design. Changes from Gen1 are the O2 wrench as lanyard hole, round bottle opener area, B tank wrench for his eye and overall length is increased to 3.5 inches. Also, the o-ring grooves have been enlarged and I'm using fatter o-rings.

It will be a few weeks before these tools are done. These are only quick mockups, the tools have not been heat treated so no, I am not selling prototypes. ;)

Next to a mockup of the plain Ghost for size comparison:

March Update

I have the remaining WingNuts ready and will do a sale later today. These had to have extensive refinishing and so will have a smooth gunmetal gray finish rather than the brighter Stone Aged finish. I am just not able to get that high lustre with my home equipment. However, I really like the antique look that I have been getting through my own efforts.

The Fixers are sitting here with sheaths done but I still need to sharpen them.

The titanium Wroach is a long ways off still since they need to be milled, etc...the whole finishing process.

G2 Superbugs are maybe three weeks away from completion with a very small number coming this week with raw bar finish.

My buddy at the machine shop screwed me up with the remaining Mini BrewDrivers because he decided to knock off and do another project rather than finishing mine but he should be back on them this week. As soon as I get them I will be doing a batch in green and probably some other colors as well. Some plain ones will be available for those who ask for them.

The Flea has been renamed the Ghost and I have a small number of them with raw bar finish at heat treat right now, will possibly have them later this week but I don't want to swear to it since the heat treat guys never let me know when my stuff will run through the ovens and tumblers. The remaining LARGE batch is almost done and ready to start tumbling, heat treat etc so will be a few weeks. I'm going to work on these this morning and try to get them out the door by tomorrow to start the finishing journey.

More WingNuts!

Hi All,

I have a few more WingNuts completed. These are 5/32 thick S30v steel, 4 inches long. They are SAE wrench sizes and feature 1/4"-9/16" in both open and close configurations. Changes from last year's batch include beefier open end wrench teeth, larger lanyard hole and elimination of the front end grinds in favor of thicker wrench teeth. They have a cool antique Stone Aged finish that makes them look like something your grandfather handed down to you.

Sold out until I get more finished, thank you!

Rainbow Mini BrewDrivers

Good morning folks! I have some rainbow anodized Mini BrewDrivers finished today. They are $65 plus shipping...

More coming in a few days, thank you!

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Blue Mini BrewDrivers

Happy Snowy Tuesday! We're getting a couple of inches today. Amazingly, while other parts of the nation have gotten hammered this year we are only at about 16 inches total for the season. Which is fine by me. :)

Alrighty then...here's the next wave of Mini BrewDrivers. I decided to leave these with a lightly tumbled semi satin finish and then I anodized them blue. I will do the next ones with either rainbow or green but this batch is for the blue fans out there. They run $65 plus shipping and as always, thanks so much for stopping by folks!

Sold out, thank you!

Plain Satin Mini BrewDrivers

Happy Wednesday Folks!

I have a bunch of plain satin finished Mini BrewDrivers completed. This is the pendant sized version in the BrewDriver series. I will make various color anodized ones when I get the remaining pieces done in a few days but for now I thought I would start with some plain satin finished ones.

These are 2 inches long and are turned from the same 1/2" diameter solid titanium bar stock that the original BrewDrivers are made of. They open bottles just fine, no problem with leverage.

The Mini BrewDriver pendants are $65 each plus shipping and they come with a 24" length of bead chain. Thanks for stopping by. :)

Plain are sold out for now, many many more on the way in a few days. Thank you!

The Latest News

Hopefully y'all haven't gone away and forgotten about me...I'm working hard to get things going again! :) This is kind of like last August if you some of you remember that period. I had a lot of stuff in process but nothing finished for several weeks. But then I was able to keep sales going with some regularity for awhile.

Upcoming tools include:

The Mini BrewDrivers will be done later this week. No doubt I will have several sales with various finishes. See pic below.

I'm working on the Candy Bar tool which I think I may rename the Wroach. It's a 3.5" Mini Bug Out Bar kind of thing with several wrench openings, o2 tank wrench as the lanyard hole and o ring grips. Approximately 3-4 weeks away on those. They are titanium.

And I have another design finalized yesterday called the Flea and that one is a pendant type tool but it has O2 tank wrench, 1/4 hex, bottle opener and pry tip. Kind of a radically redesigned Chigger, similarly sized, and those will be in thick steel to start. There are three variations of that design. 4-5 weeks away on those.

SAE WingNuts are also in process, 2 weeks away on those.

Plain BrewDrivers

I hope everyone is having a nice relaxing weekend!

I have a few of the plain satin titanium BrewDrivers done today. They are the same price as the blue ones yesterday, $70 plus shipping. I still have several dozen more BrewDrivers to finish up so there will still be more chances to pick one of these up this week. I'll be doing some more colors next.

Plain ones are gone! Thanks you so much folks.

Blue BrewDrivers

Howdy Folks,

OK, I have the first wave of BrewDrivers ready to do. I had thought I would do plain ones first but I decided to anodize these blue. I will have some plain unanodized ones tomorrow though. These are taking me a little while to finish because they have to be deburred by hand and it is quite time consuming to get into the nooks and crannies. So there will be several waves of these with a variety of finishes and colors.

These titanium BrewDriver keyfob tools are $70 plus shipping. They will come with o-rings and a keyring.

Blue Ones are gone, thanks!

New Projects: BrewDriver

I'm still working on the new BrewDriver tools but they are very close to done. I should have the first ones finished by tomorrow. These are simple keyfob tools, turned from solid 1/2" bars of titanium and they measure 3.25" long. They feature a bottle opener and screwdriver/prytip on a diamond knurled shaft with a flat for my name stamp. The bottle opener is a two pry popper meaning it takes two shots to get the cap off but it does work fine. The screwdriver tip is the standard 1/4 wide size. A large lug style end with 1/4" hole makes getting the tool on and off the keys a very simple proposition.

I will be doing the first wave as plain pieces, no anodized colors. They look pretty cool both with and without the o-ring bumpers so I will include the o-rings and let users decide if they want them on the tool or not.

The price on these will be $70 plus shipping. I'll post a sale in the morning but right now I'm back to the grindstone, literally, for the afternoon. ;)

New Projects

Hi Folks,

I'm working on a bunch of new stuff for 2010. I just finalized some drawings for a new Pry Bar type of tool which will be done in both steel and titanium. The CandyBars will be cut next week. I have an updated Superbug coming as well and I'm thinking of doing that one in titanium only. They are pretty big compared to the first ones... There are some other variation pieces in the works as well as a small titanium pendant tool.

I first mentioned in the comments last week that I'm working on a new tool turned from titanium bar stock called the BrewDriver. The BrewDriver tool is very close to starting actual production. I should have some completed samples in a couple of days and some pieces for sale in about one week if all goes as intended. I'm trying to get a very large batch of these produced. I don't know yet how much they will be as I do not have the final cost yet myself. What I have seen so far of the knurling, grooving, milling and quality of finish has me pretty excited though and I think this will be a really neat piece when they are finally done. The complexity of these things is crazy sometimes. However, I can envision several spin offs coming from this one if we can get all the turning and milling figured out so I'm hoping it's all doable.

I intend to get those long promised SAE WingNuts started through the finishing process by next week. They are close, just need a little more sanding and clean up. I also need to get to work on some long overdue sheaths for a few dozen Fixer knives that I still have in stock from last year.

There are several other things in the works too so stay tuned. It's going to be a very interesting year. :)

Features include 7/16 wrench, bottle opener, prytip with wire stripper notch, 1/4" hex driver opening and alignment tool end, 5 inches OAL. The MicroSpuds are $70 plus shipping and the purchase link is below.

Atwood Business Card

Hi Everyone,

Well, tax stuff and paperwork is taken care of and now I'm back on track finishing some projects and getting others underway. This has been a highly productive couple of weeks and I have come up with a lot of new designs and some new ideas for the next few months.

First up this year will be the Business Cards. You'll recall that I had a lot of trouble with these and even after getting them "fixed" there was still a high loss rate. I will only be able to save about 1/4-1/3 of the batch and even the ones that I am able to save are not necessarily perfect. So, if you are looking for absolute precision then you should pass on this one because even though most of these tools are acceptable there are some that are a little bit off as far as the rulers are concerned. I can tell you one thing: I will not be making any ruler tools again for the foreseeable future unless I'm able to find an outfit that is more on the ball!

The Atwood Business Card combines 21 wrench functions in a single wallet sized 420 stainless steel card tool. Features include six SAE sizes: 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16. Metric sizes include 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16mm in the center set and 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15mm in the righthand set. 1/4 and 5/16 nut driver openings and 5/16 bottle opener are included. Two rulers complete the package. These are all bead blasted.

These card tools measure 3.5 x 2 inches, same size as a standard business card. They weigh 1.6 ozs and are made of heat treated 420 grade semi stainless high carbon cutlery steel with a medium glass bead finish. There are NO TITANIUM ones in this batch and no, I will not be putting a cutting edge on these. The price is $45 plus shipping and the purchase link is below:

All gone for now but a few more coming in the next day or so. Thank you!
