Brass Whistles

Happy Sunday! They have the football playoffs starting late today so it seems like a good time to have a brass whistle sale. :) I have this first wave completed and there are more that are nearly done so I'll be able to have a second sale as well in a day or so. As always, thank you for stopping in and hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Sold Out for now, thank you!

What a relief. Thanks Peter. How can I tell my titanium from my stainless whistle. I'm guessing steel is heavier.
Thanks. Have a great day.

Thanks Bryan. How can you tell the steel apart from the ti? The steel has a noticeable weight to it and the ti feels almost featherlight. The ti is also shinier and less "gray" in color.

I love my brass whistle and it's already getting a nice patina to it.

Congrats to all the lucky buyers!

Love my brass whistle from the first batch! It was starting to get a nice patina and then I absentmindedly polished it while I was cleaning some firearms before realizing what I had just did!

Excited to get my hands on another little piece of art. I was wondering what kind of patina I should look forward to, is it the greenish copper patina?
Or is it a gradual darkening?

Anyhow thanks Peter.

It's going to be a gradual darkening and eventually it will turn quite dark except for the high spots where it receives the wear. Any little dings and scratches will turn dark too and contribute to the overall patina. It would get green only if it were exposed to the elements outside I think or if it got wet for along time. That's just a guess, it will be interesting to see what happens with them.

Hi peter I was wondering if you had any more bronze whistles in the make. I love the brass one so much I figured I would like to compare the patina on a bronze vs brass.

Peter Atwood said...

No more bronze ones for now. I made a lot of whistle this past 6 months or so and it's time to move on to other projects. I still have more brass and ti ones to finish before I'm allowed to even think about running any more. :)

Hey Peter. How about a Ti sign up sale whistles w/patterns? :)

I would like a Ti whistle as well. A sign-up sale would be fantastic!

Yeah the sign up sale for anodized Ti whistles would be a sweet idea.

Also I received my Brass whistle today and it is a nice piece of work as always.

Thanks Peter

Peter, I saw one of your "white teflon lanslides" on Ebay today, did I miss the sale?

Peter Atwood said...

No, I haven't posted a sale yet. I did sell quite a few via email and a bunch went to Gary Moore so that's probably where that one came from. I will get the batch done very soon though.
