Well, they are calling for storms tonight so I figured if I was going to do any kind of sale today it should be now. I have a small batch of Mini Ribbed Lanslides finished and these are anodized blue. Because the number is limited I think I'll make it two per customer limit on them this time. I will be turning more Lanslides this fall so no worries, more will be coming in a month or two.
Gone in a Flash! Thank you folks!
Very nice, thank you.
It was fun to show up in time to grab a Lanslide. But I'm really hoping for a Pest! With any luck, I'll manage to get one.
Fun to show up in time to grab a Lanslide. I'm really hoping for a Pest though. With any luck, it will happen before they are gone...
Nice lookin lanslides!
wtf?? i was staring at it for 2 seconds its gone? luckily i resisted.
Funny how life is... yesterday I had the fun and excitement as well as SUSpense for nearly an entire day and didn't get my number picked. But still had a great day!
Today just going about my daily business and had not even seen the notice about lanslides. Until I did my daily check to see what's happening on "Planet Pocket Tool" and, There is the Link! Not only that it is for the ever elusive Blue Anodized Lanslides! Score!
I guess even though my notification software isn't the best and I usually don't receive the notices until things are sold. You can still get lucky just by going about your daily routine. It pays to be persistent and consistent. You don't have to have any tricks up your sleeve, just checking things out and having some fun, has helped me buy some nice tools!
I think I'll just start buying my titanium beads from other makers. This is ridiculous.
wow gone in seconds....maybe next time....
Good! More for me!
Really like how in a post a couple of days ago it was going to be "more in a couple weeks" and now all the sudden it won't be until "fall" sometime (SEVERAL MONTHS).
Hey SA, why don't email me?
Go ahead and break me then. :p
I honestly don't know yet. I'm working on G2 Keytons but not sure when they will be done. It will be at least 3 weeks or more. Other than that there will be more G5 Roids but no clue when I can get to them. No other steel tools are forthcoming... yet.
Happy bunny! :-)
I understand the frustration of not hitting a sale because it happens to me more often than not;
). It's like anything else in life though. Don't let em get to ya Peter, Your doing a great job producing as much as possible. Your stuff is in high demand, which is great for you & your family bottom line. I also remember in the Planet pocket tool FAQ's that you characterize yourself as an "artist" as opposed to a "made in china mass producer"...
Looks like I lucked out today!
Looks like a TAD Pathfinder, nice!
That's a Marmot hoody...can't remember the model but I love their super lightweight stuff. This one was discontinued but it has a great cut to it.
Now on the count of three take a step back.
1 2 3 take a step back..!
Now breathe... Some of ya all need to chill.
My large blue ribbed Lanslides were waiting for me when I got home from the office today.... thanks much! Really fantastic design and anodizing.....
You can't make everyone happy, especially with such high demand for your work (just look at the recent SUS list!), so just keep doing your thing Peter and let the tools fall where they may!
Too much negativity guys, if you have never worked with your hands before creating something alone. I suggest you try it and time every step of the process from concept to material and tool gathering and the 1000's of details that pop up before you start the work. If it is new there will always be hiccups; even the best planning needs to be tweaked when put into action.
Don't forget the time it takes to do all steps required to finish a single item the clean up, organization to prep for the next day! Then the many items that our out of your control and at the mercy of whatever?
Sorry about this unexpected rant but I have been working on my hand made projects all day with still no solutions yet for a real roll out.
I came back over to look at the posts tonight to cheer me up because for the first time in years I went to eBay today (had to create an account for the family.)
My wife wants to start clearing out the house we may be moving, wants to learn to sell our old stuff on eBay (I am still undecided…) Since the eBay topic was fresh, typed in Peters name. The hammer hit me! The stuff listed was sold on Peters site within the last week or so!
What made me angry was I saw an Anodized Antique Stamped Pest for Sale/Auction. Some slick jerk with no skills of their own is on eBay making a killing off of something that 400+ people signed up for yesterday trying to get! I don't think it was from the SUS. Most did the SUS for FUN and WE WANTED THE TOOL FOR OURSELVES NOT FOR PROFIT!
I have been lucky and been able to get some tools and I keep ALL of my tools that I get.
Today was weird; it became personal for me, as I had not seen what was discussed prior. I was one of the many who missed out on all of the pests let alone the blue anodized with antique stamp pest that will most likely sell well over $200!It is not Peter's fault he is trying to stop it and I agree with what he is doing.
If I knew where that guy lived with that Pest for sale, I would drive all night and kick him right in the JUNK!
I will be back, I appreciate those of you who keep a positive attitude. Heck that's why I stopped by to cheer up!
This stuff really hits home with me right now, is all.
I now know why I am so attracted to the "Working Works of Art" Peter makes, it just gives me hope, that's all.
In response to "SA", you need to relax. It took me nearly six months to get my first tool (which I still love). Secondly, being that this is the end of August, fall is only a few weeks away. Finally, Peter has said before that he works as an artist not a factory. A big part of these tools is the fun of trying to snag one, so just enjoy the hunt.
To Peter: Keep up the great work.
If any of the comments where directed at me I want to make it clear that I was joking. I deeply respect Peter and his work, especially in a time when everything is mass produced and without an ounce of character. Also I do understand that it takes time for good things to happen/be made and that Peter is more of an craftsman than... don't know where I'm going with this anymore and I'm going to stop with the spamming.
Keep up the good work Peter.
Good luck with Irene. Stay safe.
