New JS Burly Pen

Every once in a while I like to mention noteworthy gadgets that I come across. For instance I recently discovered that the owner of EDC Forums has a nifty new pen out. Comes in two versions, ti and stainless steel. Naturally I had to check them out so I ordered the ti version a couple of weeks ago and it is just too cute. Rides on my keys nicely. It's tiny so you wouldn't want to write the Great American Novel with it but it's perfect for quick jotting. I attached mine with a McGizmo clip for quick release. Check them out here:

Hey! nice pen Peter...what kind of refills does it take? That atwrench looks familiar...:) Now everyone knows you have a Dodge!! could it be...a brand new srt-8 challenger?? haha

I agree with you 100% Peter, I also bought one of the Ti models and am extremely happy with the function and quality. The added bonus is that proceeds from sales of the pens helps keep the EDC Forum alive and well...

I'm not sure what refills they take but refills are available on his site.

I'm still driving my same Dodge Dakota that I bought new in 2003. Until they come out with an electric vehicle that is worth buying I'm going to drive this thing into the ground probably.

For a similar effect, there is the Zebra F-301 Compact pen (available at Staples and similar stores). It has a spot at the top of the pen for attaching to keyrings and, what's more, the pen opens to a full size pen (great for thick fingered hacks such as myself).

The Zebras are cool too but as Scott pointed out, sales of the Valiant Concepts pen help support the EDC Forums.

Sweet, I have to check that out. I try to carry a Moleskine Cahier notebook with me everywhere I go, but half the time I don't have a pen. This would be a perfect solution. Thanks, Peter!

Any chance of seeing an atwood pen in the future?

Yes there is a chance. I have been thinking about a cool pocket pen for a couple of years. I have some designs in my head that are different than anything else on the market. I just need to sit down with my CAD guy and get a proto fleshed out. We'll see...

".....different than anything else on the market."? I think you mean differnt than anything else in the universe. I look forward to it!

You missed out on the GM EV1 Peter. But Chevy has the Volt coming out soon supposedly that's gonna be a great car. 40 miles on electric and 50 mpg after that. I use one of those mini Pilot G2..not that small but only about a buck each so i can lose it and not be furious.

Thanks, picked one of these up today, along with the clip. A small mechanical pencil would be excellent as well, my ideal would be titanium in #5 lead size.

An Atwood pen would be sweet! I hope that you are able to bring your idea to life. I can't wait to see one!

I noticed the Ti Pen on EDCF as well. But it is leagues ahead of the Zebra mentioned above. It is also much smaller and more keychainable. - Omer

These pens were made by Jim. The owner of Valiant Concepts. I think he did a fantastic job on these. He helped create some breathing room for the forum.

long (and thin) rather than thick fingers here, but this pen seems servicable. Don't regret the purchase.
