More DotShots...

...I have a few More available.

Howdy folks,

I have a new wave of fancy DotShots available. Also a small number of the Original BigShots as well but I will get to those in a future sale. For those who may be unfamiliar with this product, these are 3 fl oz capacity stainless steel shot glasses, just the right size for a couple of ice cubes and a splash of your favorite libation. Turned and milled from a solid bar of 303 stainless steel, they weigh in at a hefty 1/2 lb each. If you're looking for an unusual Christmas gift for person who has everything then this would be a great one.

The only change made to this run was a slightly rounder and beefier lip to match the smaller Tippler shot glass a bit better. Otherwise they are identical to the previous batches. These are $55 each plus shipping and due to the weight I am only offering the Express Mail option for international buyers. Thanks!

These look great but I'll have to pass. Too many purchases lately, I'm afraid.

Well if you would drop me an email I'm sure I can fix you up with a Prybaby.

...If only I drank, I'd be all over these.

Also makes the manliest Bathroom Cup ever! :D

great work as usual!

i've been waiting for these...i really need a few of the larger size too please! thank you!

Peter said...

Great stuff!

Peter Atwood said...

LOL, this IS the larger size! :D I have a few Tipplers also, the smaller ones and will get those ready very soon.

oldskoolboarder said...

Hmm, would this even work for espresso? That would be one HOT cup, temperature-wise.

SubRosa said...

Haha, yea hot coffee would not work in this vessel ;)

If Peter ever makes a coffee cup...I am the first one in!

Unknown said...

hahaha, i was in such a hurry on my way out when i saw this i misread it...worked out perfectly in the end.

thanks again!

Peter Atwood said...

Coffee cup? I used to make those...back when I was going pottery. :p

SubRosa said...

Hrm, the dotshot seems to have a rim. I bet I could figure out a secondary insulation wall like on my steel lined coffee mug here on my desk....

I would even love a plain old mug with some silkscreen graphics like on some of the old t-shirts...good reminder to check your blog and see if anything new is posted ;)

Love your work, haven't been able to catch a sale in time though. I was looking through the archives and was loving the Damascus stuff. Any chance on making any more tools like that? Are you working on any more edged stuff? Your knife stuff circa 2006 was great looking.

Are there any liquids I shouldn't put in these? I got two :) Have they been treated in such a way as to prevent taste issues?
Thanks!

Peter Atwood said...

They have been passivated to cut down on metallic odors and flavors. There are no issues with putting whatever you want in them and they are dishwasher safe.

One for espresso, one for single malt...No problems :D

Are there any knives coming in the future?

Daniel

Peter Atwood said...

I'm making very few knives this year. What I will be releasing will be entirely via the Sign Up Sales.

Gary said...

Peter,

Got curious when you said they'd been passivated. Came across this white paper. Sounds like you spent considerable time post-machining just to enhance their practical usability. Thanks very much for the combination of art and science (fun with nitric acid)!

Hi Peter,
back in a connected to da net part of the world again, and reading your comments, I am looking foreward to seeing some of your knives coming out.
Sorry I missed the "DOT" sale, but I will be keeping a watch out, Though I am now with the folks from NZ & Oz, wrong side of the date line ;D

Got mine. VERY nice looking, solid too. Unfortunately, I have no ice in the fridge to christen it w/ some Mt Gay rum. :( I'll try in the morning w/ some espresso.

Got mine Peter, awesome!

The little dice were funny, nice add (didn't you use full size, white dice last time?)

Peter Atwood said...

I mostly use the little dice unless I run out, then I have been putting in the big dice. Reminds me, I need to order some more.

Unknown said...

Awesome-ness. Can't wait to try it out. It's a nice weight, not too easy to accidentally tip over after a few :-). Is it 5pm somewhere yet?

Peter,

Do you have any more big shots in the works, either Dots or Regular? Sad to say, I saw this in time to get one...decided not to and now I'm kicking myself!

Peter Atwood said...

Yes I do have more DotShots and I'm putting them up right now. I have some plain BigShots as well, about 3 dozen so please email me if anyone wants plain ones with rifle knurl. I'll have a small sale in the next day or so if there are still any left.

Score! I was bummed I didn't trust my "atwood sense" and passed when I had the chance to buy- but now there are more! Got one for myself and one for my brother...going to make a great XMAS present!

Unknown said...

Hi Peter, made it through the armys web security and picked up a pair, now if I can make it home for the holidays, I hope to break em in back in the world. 10 Cane Rum anyone?
Thanks Much for providing us with the chance at such "cool" stuff!

Gary said...

Hi Peter,

Wow! Got mine today from the first batch. Had to be greedy and buy another, Xmas is coming up after all and it will make a very unique gift. Many thanks!

b.read said...

Gary, would you mind giving us some rough measurements of the dotshot? I'm curious...

Peter Atwood said...

2 inches in diameter by 2.5 inches tall and they weigh 1/2 lb each.

b.read said...

That's awesome! Thanks Peter- didn't know you were watching the site right now! Can you give us a hint on what's to come next?

Peter Atwood said...

I haven't decided yet. I still have a few more BigShot orders that I'm working on today and I do have some left if anyone wants them, please email me.

I have a few things for Sign Up Sales but I need to shoot some pictures and get them set up. Sometime in the next day or two though...also, I should have the next batch of steel G3 Prybabies back from heat treat and tumble in a few days so look for them later next week.

(crossing fingers) Folders, Folders Folders! I hope that's what the sign-up's for! One can hope, right?

SubRosa said...

Got my DotShot in today! Love it...it is currently doing it's cycle in the dish washer and then going to be "broken in" accordingly.

It holds about the same amount of liquid as my whisky glass...so we are good to go ;)

Peter Atwood said...

LOL, yeah....Riiiiiggghhhhttt. :p :D

A boy can dream Peter, a boy can dream...LOL

Just curious... any of your plans include damascus?

Far too cool!

I ordered two of these just because I had finally been looking at the site when a purchase link was active. I rarely even drink hard liquor. I thought they would make a great Christmas gift for someone but after receiving them there's no way I can get rid of them! There beautiful just to look at and appreciate what went into making them.
