Gee what time did you post this? 7AM PST and it is sold out.

I have to watch closer. I am left handed.

Peter Atwood said...

Mike, there is one left if you want to email me.

Let's hope some left-handers got some, instead of the eBay hoarders.

Ahh I was wanting a lefty tool - too late!

Peter Atwood said...

Nope, not too late, there is one left if you will email me, peter (at) atwoodknives.com

Peter Atwood said...

OK, all the lefty Chiggers are now gone, thank you folks.

Damn, missed it by only hours. I'm a lefty to, but never owned a lefty specific tool (or knife for that matter).

Maybe next time I will be watching the blog closer.

Not to try and be funny Peter, but a left handed chigger just has the atwood stamp on the other side, right? I mean the righty model would work for a southpaw, but they just wouldn't see the stamp (and would have to open bottles upside down), no?

Peter Atwood said...

Nope, it has both the stamp and the grinds on the other side.

Peter,
Left handed Chigger on Ebay! Considering your position on Ebay, that seller has a set of nutz to steal your picture too.

Funny, the guy on ebay apparently didn't really know he had a lefty?? He didn't put it in his title, but then noted it in the auction.

To his credit, he didn't put a reserve, but it's obvious that he'll get more than what he paid. But it's more annoying to me people who put Atwoods on with only a huge Buy It Now price only.

The FunnyBone arrived today, thanks
Nice surprise - I didn't know it was both metric and SAE

I take it that the SAE is the left side and the Metric is on the right?

Peter Atwood said...

Correct, Funnybones are SAE on the left and on the lanyard side even number metric. I will be doing either an all metric FunnyBone or a all metric WingNut pretty soon. Have some other projects to clear first though.

It is nothing new with the person on ebay. He has several feedbacks linking to nothing but Atwood sales(for the most part).

It's just the way it goes, Peter doesn't know whether or not someone will buy a tool and go around and sell it right away. I admit that I've sold 2 Atwoods on ebay because I ended up not using them.

I sold a RingThing for just over $100, but sold a prybaby for $50 more than what I paid for it. I lost money on those but it was worth it because the tools were great! Just not as useful over some of my prized Atwoods.

Not trying to defend the ebayer there but he has sold several Atwoods on ebay.

Peter has no real control what people do, but the best thing for the true Atwoodites is to not bid over the price that Peter sells them for, or don't bid on them at all!

Hope this helps.

I'll second what Matt said.

Matt-
I disagree, Peter has full control, he doesn't have to sell to him or her in the future...

Matt said...

^^I agree with you to some extent on that but we're better off NOT bidding or "buy it now" on ebay because they are the ones that have to pay the dreaded ebay fee's and paypal fee's when/if he receives money.

There is a ringthing and fixer on ebay for BIT at $555.

I just laugh.

Plus, Peter would have to take time away from making/designing these awesome tools/knives to regulate those Ebayer's.

It's really a win/loss situation.

But I do agree with you as well Mark.

Take care buddy.

Matt-
I agree we would be better off by not bidding, that's not going to happen. Telling an "Atwood Junkie" not to buy a piece on Ebay is like telling a crack addict not to buy crack, it sounds great but the temptation is too great if it's right in front of them. The only way to limit Ebastards is to identify them and not sell to them. :)

Got the left handed chigger today- looks fantastic :) It should be on my keychain tonight :D I'd love to get a pry-baby in time for framing on my construction project though :D

Hi Peter,

I just thought I'd let you know that my little Lefty XL got back from your spa today. Thanks of restoring it to it's full splendor!

Ben

The price of Atwoods on eBay is a reflection of supply and demand. There aren't a lot of Atwoods, and a lot of people want them.

I'm sure there are also a lot of people that would rather pay more than checking the lottery every 5 minutes to get something. I'm not saying it's right, or that I would rather buy the overpriced items on eBay, but regulating it is not going to happen. Try getting a Hinderer XM-18 for less than double what the original purchaser paid.

The price of Atwoods is more a reflection of Peter's character and not wanting to sell something he enjoy's providing for more the he feel's it's worth, not the price the market will bear.

On another note. I am dying for a lefty prybaby, original, g2, g4, any chance I will be appeased in the near future?

I may have a left handed Prybaby in stock I believe if you want to email me...
