So What's Up?

Glad you asked... :) This is an in between time for batches but there is an incredible amount of stuff on deck.

I sent a rather large batch of tools to heat treat earlier this week. We should be seeing them back in just about two weeks. Most of the batch is Atwrenches and the majority of those are with Tiki grinds. Some will have glow dots. All of the group with Tiki grinds will have V notches! There are also a couple dozen plain basic ones like the very first group. In addition, there were several dozen Nibbles and a few odds and ends as well.

I am currently working on a batch of titanium FunnyBones and hope to get those ready for tumbling and finishing in a day or two. Once sent off to the tumbler it should be about a week to get them back and do the final finishing, anodizing, etc. I'm also going to try to slip in a few other titanium items at the same time including some more of the flat ti Gasbabies.

Some other goodies are coming too. I am experimenting with some new designs and I think that all in all it's shaping up to be a VERY interesting summer. Stay tuned for more info in just a few short days.

Next week I have an important family matter to attend to. I may be slow to answer emails from Tuesday through the end of the week. But rest assured that June is going to be an extremely busy month at Atwood Knife and Tool. :)

Yeah it was getting a little quite around here. Looking forward to your new designs! By the way, will those Titanium funnybones have the extra grinds?

Alan, I do believe so. I'm still working on them so I can do whatever I want to them. There isn't a lot of real estate on them so probably glow dots are out but the extra grinds are very likely. The only reason more of the last steel batch didn't get them was that I was pressed for time to send the batch to heat treat.

Atwrenches, tiki's, funnybones, v-notches, ti, the goodness never stops... it is a wicked good summer...

Sweet Peter! I hope all goes well with your family. Sending my best from Bodrum, Turkey.

Will we see Ringcutters anytime soon?

Wow...Ti Funnybone, too cool. Gotta have one.

Glad to hear about the extra grinds. The grinds might not be anything grand but they add a really nice look to the funnybone. Plus the fact that they will be Ti just put its over the top.

I hope you can give us a heads up when you're getting close to release the next batch. I might have to skip work and sit at home on my lap-top all day waiting :). I REALLY want one of the glow-dot atwrenches

Regarding glow dots on the funnybone you said:
"There isn't a lot of real estate on them so probably glow dots are out"

ok, then what are the chances for perhaps getting a 1.5mm x 5.5mm slot? Perhaps in the center underlining the Atwood logo?

Perhaps even one on the back as well for double the glowing coolness? Folks would of course have to fill the slots themselves if they wanted to do so...

Peter Atwood said...

I'm afraid a slot is not in the cards as it is much more time consuming to do than a dot.

So should we declare June as National AtMonth?

Looks like a lot of good news on the AtFront! :)

Any chance you will do a mini batch of flat Ti Prybabies?

Peter Atwood said...

Yes, there will be a few dozen flat ti Gasbabies coming but no plain flat Prybabies.

When are you going to make more Boogers, Skeeters, Goblins, and Ghouls? These routinely sell for $300+ on the forums and on eBay. Clearly there is strong demand for these blade'd tools. No more ____babys!

Peter,
will we see any Atwrenches in titanium???

I'm hoping to see the pieces back from heat treat this week but as always I am at the mercy of the heat treater and their schedule. I will keep you all up to date though and give a head's up as soon as I know something.

In the meantime I am grinding titanium stuff this week so there's a bunch of ti coming up probably at close to the same time as the steel batches are ready.

So, it's been a long dry spell but there is a veritable flood of stuff coming. :)

Hey, Peter...I just wanted to thank you for your proactive stance in cutting off the scalpers from being able to buy from you. It does seem to be making a difference and I appreciate that. Makes the rest of us have a chance at scoring one of your tools!

Glad to see some action going on. It was getting a little too quite in here.
