More Plain Wedgies

Hi Folks,

Almost spring here in New England and it seems like despite what the Groundhog said that maybe we are going to be getting a rare early spring for once. It's supposed to climbing up into the 60's for most of next week. But today it's that damp and dreary 40F temp that chills your bones and the sun keeps coming and going through the gray clouds.

Today I have the rest of the plain Wedgies done. It's another small batch, just a couple dozen, so it will be one per customer. They will be $60 plus shipping and the link is below. Have a great weekend everyone and thank you!

All gone again, thank you!

Blue Wedgies

Happy Freezing Cold Tuesday Folks! Man, it's chilly here today but supposed to warm up later this week to 60 degrees. What a pleasant thing to look forward to. ;)

So today I have some titanium Wedgies done and these are anodized blue. The grinds on these are normal, unlike the higher accent grinds shown in this older pic. I won't be doing any more blue ones after these and the batch is very small...so one per customer please. They run $60 plus shipping and the link is below. Have a great day and stay warm!

These are gone, thank you so much!

Rest of the Pests

Hi Folks!

I get a lot of emails from people asking for something different or unusual. I also get a lot of requests for patterned titanium pieces. I don't make a whole lot of these because they are time consuming to do and the methods used to achieve the designs are quite tedious and easy to mess up. So, in the past I have made a dozen here and there and usually sell them via a Sign Up Sale. I could have done that this time but instead I decided to bite the bullet and put in a couple of days of work on these so that I could get enough together for a general release sale.

This will be close to the end of the titanium Pest run. All of these special Pests have been stamped...some of them have single stamps, some have multiple stamps. They are all patterned in various ways and they are anodized in a wide variety of colors. No two are alike and they are absolutely gorgeous! So if you've been wanting something with a pattern and something that is one of a kind and different this is your big chance.

Now, I want as many people to get one as possible. So this is going to be a one per customer sale please. Sorry, no choice of pattern, stamp or colors, I'll send you whatever I send you. They will run $85 plus shipping. Thanks as always for stopping in and have a great Sunday!

Whew, that was amazingly quick! They are all gone, thank you so much!

Here's a small sampling:

Black Widow Longslides

Howdy All,

The weatherman was finally right this week, it's snowing like crazy this afternoon. Luckily I took pictures of these yesterday while it nice out...

Today I have the rest of the black hard anodized Aluminum Longslide beads done. These are on a gorgeous new cord pattern from Supply Captain called Black Widow although I kinda think Cherry Bomb would have worked too...or maybe Maine Hunting Shirt even though it's not as catchy. Hehe...:D

Anyhow, the Black Widow Longslides are $25 plus shipping and the link is below. Thanks for stopping by today and stay warm!

Black Widows are gone, thank you so much folks!

Left Handed Pests

Hello Everyone,

Well all good things must come to an end and the New England winter is no exception. Now, we've been lucky to have had a very mild winter so far this year but it appears we will not be able to escape completely unscathed as a storm is supposed to hit tomorrow and give us up to a foot of that dreadful white stuff. Since it's not supposed to start until tomorrow afternoon I have ample time to get to the post office in the morning...so it's a good night for a sale.

In other news, more Bigshots are coming in the next few days as well as more anodized aluminum Longslides. Some steel tools are going to be ready to start grinding in the next week or so. The rest of the ti Pests and Wedgies should be ready to go in the next couple of days. Some new drawings have been happening and events are being set in motion for several really interesting batches of items such as the Wrunt. It's going to be one hell of a spring coming up if I can just keep my nose to the grindstone. Maybe I'll take some juggling lessons, that might help.

So today I have a small batch of tools for my lefthanded friends. These left handed titanium Pests have a plain stonewashed finish and will run $65 plus shipping, the purchase link is below. The batch is small so I'm going to make it one per customer please. As always, I'm hoping you all are having a great week!

LH Pests are gone, thank you!

Hey Folks,

Happy Weekend! The wind is howling here today with huge gusts. Good day to be inside with a hot drink.

Today I have some more Aluminum 5 Rib Longslides done. These are hard anodized a gorgeous black and will come on either blue or black cord. I have a lot of these nearing completion and maybe there will be some other ano colors over the next week or two...we shall see. ;)

Anyhow, the Black Longslides are $25 plus shipping and the link is below. Thanks as always for stopping in and hope you all are having a great weekend.

That's all I have done for now but there will be more coming soon, thank you!

Plain 3 Rib Lanslides

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe this winter! While I am not missing the snow I just can't get over how warm it has been, it's quite bizarre. There is almost no snow here right now and it's been great weather for taking walks.

I'm slowly working on stuff here these past few days and will have some more tool sales very soon. I will have more anodized aluminum 5 rib Longslides coming up pretty soon as well so stay tuned for those. In the meantime I managed to get some more of the smaller ones done...these are satin finished full sized 3 rib Lanslides in titanium. They run the usual $15 each plus shipping. Thank you as always for visiting Planet Pocket Tool!

All gone, thank you so much!

Stormy Blue Pests

Hey Folks,

Happy Weekend!

Well, today I got a few more ti pests done...these are anodized a new shade of blue that I'm calling Stormy Blue. It's hard to capture in photos but it's kind of a metallic looking cross between UV, blue, green, teal, sea foam and aquamarine all mixed up. It's a higher voltage color in between UV and green on the spectrum. Rather nice color that I will be using again for sure on future tools. Anyway, I just have a couple dozen of these finished for now and they are $65 plus shipping. Thanks for checking in and have a great weekend. ;)

All gone, thank you!

Apparently this one belongs to the cat now:

Golden Pests

Hey Folks,

How's it going? Hope everyone is having a terrific week. I'm rolling along here and in the mood to get some stuff done so that's good news as far as sales are concerned.

Today I have some titanium Pests finished. These are the same design as earlier releases and the thickness is 5/32 so they are quite hefty. I have given these many hours of tumbling so the edges are nicely softened and the finish is exactly what I was looking for on them. This group is anodized a deep rich golden color which my photo did not quite catch...they are darker in real life than the photo conveys. I have several waves of these coming and will do some other colors as well in the next batches.

Golden Pests are $65 plus shipping. Thanks once again for stopping in!

Gold Pests are all gone, thank you!

BigShots!

Howdy Folks,

I'm slowly working on various projects and more tools should be on the way in the next day or two. I have another round of titanium Pests coming up in two new colors and more Wedgies are tumbling right now as I type this.

In the meantime, I have completed a bunch more of the stainless steel Bigshots. These heavy weights are some of the prettiest so far, the quality of the turning is absolutely superb. Bigshots run $75 each plus shipping and I set the sale up for maximum of two per customer. If you want more than two just email me and we can work out the shipping arrangements. Thanks for stopping by on this fine Wednesday afternoon, always appreciated!

Stainless are gone for now but more coming, thank you!

Matte Blue Keytons

Hi Everyone,

It's cold and breezy today so not really the best weather for enjoying outdoor activities... in light of that I figured it might be a good day to sit down with a cup of hot coffee and have a sale.

Today I have more of the ti Keytons done. These are matte finished and are anodized a deep rich blue. A gray/blue lanyard completes the monochromatic and subdued look of the package. These are very nice indeed.

The matte blue Keytons run $65 plus shipping. Thanks for stopping in today and hope your weekend is going great!

Blue ones are gone, thank you!

Plain Ti Wedgies

Hi Everyone,

It has taken me a while to get these G2 Wedgies done. Funny how sometimes the projects that are supposed to be quick and relatively easy can often turn into never ending battles. I thought I'd be done with these several weeks ago which is why I sold a few of the first test pieces to folks who emailed looking for new stuff. And of course one person immediately took advantage of that to put one up on Ebay before I even had a chance to finish the bulk of the batch and post a Wedgie sale. That generated a lot of trouble for me and dozens of emails from upset fans and so from now on I will try to avoid that and not release stuff until the batches are actually completed.

Anyway, I'm still only halfway done with the Wedgies and need to finish up the rest of the batch but I have a small number of them ready today. These are plain stonewashed with no anodizing. The ti Wedgies measure 4 inches long by 1/2" wide and are well over 1/4" in thickness so they are massive little blocks of titanium. In addition, titanium plate this thick is also sometimes textured so I was delighted to see that these have a light pebbly Raw Bar finish. The lanyard opening on these doubles as an O2 wrench.

Are they tough? Well, talk about overkill...I used a 2 lb hammer to nail one deep into a wooden 2x4 and there was no damage whatsoever besides a slightly flattened mark on the end where the hammer had struck it. Good stuff. :)

The Wedgies run $60 plus shipping. This will be a one per customer sale because I only have a couple dozen completed so far but I wanted to get some out there as soon as possible. More will be coming in the next few days. Thanks for your patience and understanding!

All gone, thank you!

Rainbow Stamped Keytons

Hi Everyone,

Well this is going to be a big party weekend here in New England for obvious reasons so I figured maybe I could squeeze one more sale in before all my productivity goes completely down the drain. Naturally I'm rooting for the Patriots but I think it's going to be a very hard fought contest and the Giants are a damned good football club so we'll see what happens. It will be enjoyable no matter the outcome.

Anyhow, today I have more ti Keytons done. These have my antique diemaker stamps on them. They are stonewashed and feature bright rainbow anodizing. These run $70 each plus shipping. The batch is a bit small so I'll make this a one per customer sale please. I do have more ti Keytons coming after this and another big batch will be underway very soon so many more of these are coming later this winter.

All Gone, thank you!

Stonewashed Titanium G2 Keytons

Happy Tuesday Evening Folks,

It's been a very busy couple of days for me juggling projects around and finishing stuff up. I have lots and lots of things on the way so bear with me and I will have it all ready very soon. More ti G2 Keytons, ti Wedgies, more stainless steel Bigshots, ti Pests and some other goodies as well. It's going to be one heck of a busy winter and spring. Someday there will even be G2 Keyton Roids and more G5 Prybaby Roids but it won't be for a while yet, at the earliest late winter.

Today I have finished up the next installment of titanium G2 Keytons. I had quite a few people emailing after releasing the green ones asking for plain stonewashed...so I decided to do some plain ones today. I still have plenty more ti Keytons coming as well so maybe we'll go for blue or UV after these.

The plain stonewashed titanium G2 Keytons run $65 plus shipping and the link is below. International orders for more than one will automatically ship via Express mail, otherwise everything is the usual Priority Mail. Thanks for your patience!

Plain ones are sold out, thank you so much!

Titanium Keytons!

Hi Folks,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's fairly mild here and all in all it's been a pretty mild winter so far. Let's hope it stays that way.

Today I have the first wave of titanium Keytons done. These are very similar to the earlier batch that I did in steel but I made a few small changes. The most obvious is the addition of the 1/4" hex opening. There was plenty of room to play with so I decided to add that feature in. Also, I changed the thumb grip scallops along the top from the hex shape to my older rounded shape because I felt it lent a certain harmony to the design. It's always fun to change things up a little bit and give each design it's own theme.

Anyway, these are 5/32" thick titanium with a stonewashed finish and I have anodized these first ones green. There are a lot more of the titanium ones in process right now and I will be having multiple sales in the next few days as I get them completed. These run $65 plus shipping. Thanks for checking in on this fine Sunday!

Wow, green ones are gone! That was quick...luckily I have many many of these coming in other colors in the next couple of days so no worries and thank you!

Rainbow Longslides

Happy Monday Evening Folks! I thought maybe a little sale might be fun...

I have just a few of these rainbow anodized titanium Longslides. Now, to be fair, these are small so some of them kind of missed the blue range and are more "Tequila Sunrise" than "Rainbow" but they still have a nice fade. These run $25 each plus the shipping. Thanks for stopping in!

Sold out, thank you!

Like the one on the far right:

Blue Lanslides

Hey Everyone,

Today I have some more of the full sized 3 rib Lanslides ready. These are anodized a rich blue color and have a nice satin finish, actually slightly shinier than the one pictured below. Anyway, they are $15 each plus shipping and the link is below:

Blue ones are gone, some plain satin ones on the way soon though and also bronze. Thank you!

International Shipping Rates

Hi Folks,

Well I have some unwelcome news for my international customers...the US Postal Service has raised their Priority and Express Mail rates quite a bit recently. It now will cost $17 for Priority International and $35 for Express Mail. I'm sorry but these costs are out of my control and will be the new rates going forward. Thank you for your business and I hope that this will not deter anyone from purchasing but I understand it is getting expensive, especially on low ticket items. I'll have to look into the restrictions but maybe I can offer first class or something like that as an alternative to Priority International.

Business Cards

Hi Folks,

Some of you may remember the Atwood Business Cards that I made a few years ago. These were designed to be credit card sized tools for the wallet and they had all the common wrench sizes on them including SAE and both the odd and even number metric scales. So pretty much all the wrench sizes from 1/4-9/16 and 5-16mm. Plus 1/4 and 5/16 driver openings and a bottle opener. They are made of hardened 420 stainless steel.

In addition, the cards had laser engraved rulers across the top on both sides. Well, the laser engravers were a bunch of idiots who couldn't follow simple instructions and they totally screwed up the rulers. So I sold a few that were reasonably accurate and the rest of them went into a box and I pretty much forgot about them. But I just couldn't bear to throw the rest of them away...

So, anyway, recently I was going through my junk pile and I spied the box of old card tools. I decided I could save some of them if I got them surface ground to remove the bad rulers. Some of them ended up getting ground down so far that they either lost the name stamp or partially removed it but others are in remarkably nice shape. The surface ground finish was quite nice so instead of my usual tumble or bead blast I thought I would spend a bit more time on them and do a hand brushed finish with scotchbrite wheel on a die grinder. These ended up being a bunch of work and I don't have too many but they do look very nice.

The Business Cards will run $60 each plus shipping and due to the small number will be a one per customer sale. Thanks for stopping by this morning and one more thing...GO PATS! :D

Business Cards are sold out for now. Thank you and have a great Sunday!

BigShots!

Hi Folks,

Well it's shaping up to be a great 2012 with many projects underway already. I'll be cutting more G5 Roid Prybabies soon for a late winter/early spring timeframe. The G2 Roid Keytons will be coming along in a month or so once I get off my lazy butt and resume working on them again. G2 titanium Keytons are being cut this week so those will be coming in a few weeks as well. And some of my older customers might remember a slender and hefty pry bar tool called the Wedgie...the Wedgies will be returning very soon but this time in super thick titanium. There may be a few other suprises in store too that I am not yet ready to reveal. ;)

The big news right now though is the return of that bodacious drinking tool, the BigShot. I revisited the design and gave it a facelift so that it now shares the same DNA as my Tippler shot cups. The new BigShots are the same size as the older BigShots with a 3 fluid ounce capacity but they now closely resemble the Tipplers in outward appearance. These gorgeous cups are made of passivated 303 stainless steel and they weigh in at a whopping 7.3 ounces, so nearly 1/2 lb each! They are truly awesome vessels.

The way the production cycle for the BigShots is going to work, I will be able to get about a week of machine time per month for much of the year. So approximately every month or so I'll be able to get a batch of these going. In this way I should be able to have multiple sales throughout the year for BigShots and so will be able to keep them coming. In addition, I'll also be making some in aluminum with hardcoat anodizing and perhaps some design variations may come along in time as well, we'll see how it goes. No titanium ones will be made.

So, today I have the first wave of stainless steel BigShots ready. Material costs have increased since the earlier batches two years ago so these are going to be $75 each plus shipping. Due to weight and value, international shipping will be via Express Mail only. This first wave is not huge and since many many more are coming very soon I'm going to limit these to two pieces per customer for now. As always, thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate it.

First wave is gone, thank you so much! Next ones will be up probably end of next week or early the following week.

Next to the Tippler!
