I still don't have any major projects ready to go, but I did manage to make some very good progress on two of them. Timascus Mini Poltergeists and tiny Timascus Larva tools are finally all prepped out and just need milling before the grinding and final finishing steps. They still have a lot of work left but the most miserable hand sanding prep work has been completed which took a solid couple of weeks...I also have several small misc batches of older odds and ends which I am getting together right now.

Today I have a few dozen Carbon Fiber RubRats for you. These little guys are handy for quieting your jangling keys down and for preventing brassing from the rubbing of keys against fancy tools or other valuable items.

RubRats will run $20 plus shipping the link is below. Thanks for dropping in and hope spring is coming early for you all as well!

All gone, thank you everyone!

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-81368383722410525902024-02-20T09:49:00.001-05:002024-02-20T14:27:00.629-05:00Dungeon Black Tiny Tims
Well Happy Tuesday to you all! It's a glorious sunny day out there this morning and the light is getting stronger every day. We're still due up for some more cold days ahead, but you can tell the tide is turning and it won't be long before some milder weather comes around.

I've been slowly working on several projects. I have some timascus Mini Poltergeists started and am in the middle of sanding them down and prepping them out for milling. They still have a lot of work before the finish line but are coming along nicely. I have a big batch of 3v Steel Prybabies that have now been milled and are on deck for grinding. I still keep putting off the Stubby MiniBars but will have to bite the bullet and put in some time in front of the grinder very soon on those too...

Today I have some super cool little tools for you. Fans of my smallest tools will appreciate this handy new version of the Tiny Tim with rear pry tip, 1/4 hex lanyard, cap lifter, extra leverage mini pry tip, and 5/16 hex wrench. These compact little gems are CPM 154 steel with a rather wild and unusual Dungeon Black finish on them!

I had a great deal of fun with these and the depth and variation of the highly distressed antique blackened finish is quite interesting. Expect character marks, scars, and patina galore! They truly look like something dug up from an ancient Iron Age battleground site and displayed in a museum...very fun stuff. :) There is a wide variety of stamps here, as well as a handful without stamps for anyone who wishes to request a plain one. I also have a half dozen lefties...

Dungeon Black Tiny Tims will run $65 plus shipping and the link is below. Thanks for swinging by today and I hope warm Spring weather is coming to you sooner rather than later.

Sold out, thank you so much!

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-30946977794799835872024-02-05T10:47:00.002-05:002024-02-05T10:51:20.204-05:00Timascus Prybabies!
Howdy all!

It's a bright and sunny one out there today, a welcome change from the endless dreary gray days that we have had for the past few weeks. The light is getting stronger and the days a bit longer too. A good time to start a few seeds for my tiny Alpine strawberries that I want to grow this year and that take a long time to get going.

Well today I have a super cool treat for you. These Timascus Prybabies are quite dazzling...the somewhat gummy material is absolutely dreadful to work with and does not mill cleanly at all. So I decided to skip the V notches on these and make them with simple bevels instead which I could grind rather than mill. They actually look very cool like this and I may make a few of the 3v steel ones this way later this year. Anyhow, The hand work involved with these is considerable, and require many more steps than usual, but I think the extra labor was worth it!

I experimented with electrical anodizing and was underwhelmed with the finished effect. Yes, I could get more colors, but they are not as interesting, and two tone effects were a bit of a let down compared to regular titanium. And they already had way too much time into them to justify yet a second round of tumbling and reanodizing which is the way I normally achieve contrasting effects.

So that left me with the torch method of coloring. I quickly found out that method required yet a different set of steps to get what I wanted, but I finally worked it out and settled on a good routine. These Prybabies vary in the color and contrast of the finishes, and the color palette is more limited. But the Timascus patterning is more vivid...And most importantly, heat coloring is far more durable than ordinary surface coloring, so these will hold up well for a long time, even in a relatively "hostile" environment such as a keyring....

And, for more of this material, I have a huge batch of Tombstones, another of Mini Poltergeists,
and a third batch of tiny Larva tools that will be coming this year as
well. So, lots of timascus items will be on the way as I get to them. Also, there is a lefty here today if anyone wants to email me for it.

Timascus Prybabies will run $99 plus shipping. The batch is tiny, so one per customer please...a second batch will be coming a few weeks. Have a great week ahead and thank you as always for visiting today!
All gone, thank you so much!

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-69002455512624676292024-01-23T10:03:00.002-05:002024-01-23T12:05:59.889-05:00White Delrin MultiGrip Beads
Hi Everyone,

Well, we just had a little cold spell and now we're looking at pretty mild temps ahead for the next week. So far we really have gotten off easy this winter, but we'll see how it goes in February.

Not too much to report on the projects. I will do a little grinding over this next week. I also need to fix a tumbler that is having some issues and change the ceramic media which is getting worn out. But I will have more tools coming up very soon.

Today I have some white Delrin MultiGrip beads for you. These were left over from a few years ago and are some of the last beads with the smaller 1/2 inch diameter. The included rubber o-ring dresses up the hour glass shape rather nicely and adds a bit more grip to them, hence the name. ;)

White Delrin MultiGrips will run $30 plus shipping and the link is below. Thanks for popping in today and I hope your week is shaping up to be a dandy!

All gone, thank you so much. :)

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-38696228583286628162024-01-18T10:02:00.001-05:002024-01-18T12:04:00.296-05:00Area 51 Steel Superbug Tools
Well Happy Thursday Everyone. It's a sunny but frosty one out there this morning. I've already been out wrestling with my steep driveway and cleaning up what I missed from yesterday. I still have a little bit more to do later, but this is always a good physical workout for me so I don't mind. No need for a gym membership when you have a country property to keep up in New England!

Today I have some more CPM 154 steel Mini Superbug tools for you, this time with Area 51 grinds. A really sweet compact tool that is easy to carry and pretty much my favorite of the captive bit designs. These are stamped, although I do have a handful of non stamped A51 pieces for anyone who wants a plain one, just drop me an email. There are also some stamped lefties available as well.

A51 Superbugs will run $75 plus shipping and the link is below. Thank you as always for swinging by today, and I hope your week is going well. :)

Sold out, thank you so much!

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-49396870905690560062024-01-16T10:51:00.001-05:002024-01-16T11:26:26.585-05:00Stamped Brass Megas
Hi Folks,

Snow is coming down pretty good this morning, but it is light and fluffy. We will probably get 4-5 inches and then we're in for a deep cold snap for at least a week or more.

I finally got all caught up with paperwork and inventory tasks and am looking at projects for the winter. I'm just about ready to go with the steel A51 Mini Superbugs. Still haven't decided on final finishes for the steel Tiny Tims, but they are coming as well. I have some grinding to do on some other items, but will definitely have some more tools coming up very soon. As for ceramics, I'm slowly working on a few new items and will have some of those coming in a couple of weeks.

Today I have some Brass 6 Flute Mega beads for you. These are all stamped. The plain ones without stamps were all gone awhile ago, so just these stamped ones remain. They have my usual wide variety of stamps, and all of the images are quite small of course.

Stamped Brass Megas will run $35 each plus the shipping. Thanks for coming by today, and stay warm out there!

Sold out, thank you so much!

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-4435827475734669292024-01-02T09:11:00.003-05:002024-01-02T09:39:05.629-05:00Happy New Year! :)
Happy New Year Everyone! Hope you all had a great holiday week and had some time to relax. It finally is trending a little sunnier here after weeks of gloom and damp. But now it's turning a little cooler and I think we have a few inches of snow on the way for the weekend.

I've been catching up on paperwork and will probably take a few days here to take it easy and just pick away a bit at some projects. Coming up in late January or early February will be 3v Steel Prybabies. I have a small batch of timascus tools that I will get going on in the next week or so. I have a big batch of steel Tiny Tims that came back from heat treat right before the holidays and I need to sit down and figure out how I want to finish those. Some A51 Mini Superbugs are coming along and will be done soon. I have several batches of items that need grinding, and a few things that I started last year but never really got going on them. It's been a pattern for years, but I seem to often be good at starting stuff and then losing interest temporarily, only to take it up again a little later, hehe...at any rate, this is likely to be a very busy winter so stay tuned for all sorts of interesting goodies!

Today I have some left over plain Atomic Wedgies for you. I also have a handful of the stamped ones left as well if anyone wants to email for them...all of the lefties are gone btw...

Atomic Wedgies run $85 plus shipping and the link is below. As always, I thank you for popping in today and hope 2024 is a great one for you all.

Plain are all gone! I do have a few more stamped if anyone wants to email me...thanks again folks. :)

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-75926169524814207452023-12-27T09:57:00.001-05:002023-12-27T12:30:05.605-05:00Atomic Wedgies!
Hi Folks,

Hope you had a nice Christmas weekend! It was cloudy but mild here, and the trend continues. I think it is supposed to rain much of the next few days, but that beats the white stuff anytime.

Today I have some beautiful tools for you. The CPM 154 steel Atomic Wedgies are nearly 1/4 inch thick, and they are 4.25 inches long, not counting the offset PryTail which gives about another 3/4 inch. These are very robust tools with nice broad pry end, 1/4 hex lanyard hole. And, in a nod to the original Wedgie design, these are drilled to accept DIY paracord wrap if you choose, and I will include a length of cord. I'm sure plenty of heavy wet snow will be coming soon enough though...

This afternoon I have a couple more of the cool older pieces for you. These were the larger sized ones that I made, just about 6 inches square. They feature the sea fan patterning and a notch on the back for hanging on the wall if you wish. The glazes vary from the rutile blue to green copper Oribe and barium blue/green matte.

Large Vintage Tiles will run $55 plus shipping, and there are just these six available. Link is below. Thanks again for stopping in, and I will have Atomic Wedgies next week for you as I just got word that they have now shipped back to me.

Tiles are sold out, thank you again!

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-21854029694292151532023-12-21T08:05:00.003-05:002023-12-21T09:12:23.064-05:00BagBoy Clips
We're closing in on the end of the week and the busy holidays ahead for many...I hope everyone has safe travels and is able to enjoy the blessings of the season! It will be super warm here, so should be good for those who have to drive.

Today I have a nice batch of BagBoy Clips that I had completely forgotten about and just recently assembled. I consider these to be the ultimate kitchen clip. I was tired of the crummy plastic ones that barely have any grip, and the magnets are so wimpy that they slide down the door of the fridge. When they hit the floor the brittle plastic shatters. Pathetic! In contrast, BagBoy clips are made of strong stainless steel. The custom rifle knurled fasteners are titanium with powerful magnets and the whole assembly is held together with a stainless steel machine screw.

BagBoy Clips will run $37 plus shipping and the link is below. Thanks for coming by, and best wishes for a great holiday season!

BagBoys are all gone, thank you so much folks!

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-23185186596696997642023-12-20T10:52:00.002-05:002023-12-20T11:05:51.034-05:00Green Delrin Magnum Beads!
Here's another little remnant batch for you...Green Delrin Magnum Beads! We're so close to the shortest day of the year, and it's always great to be on the other side with the days getting longer.

I'm still waiting for steel Atomic Wedgies to come back from heat treat. I don't know if they will come back this week or not, but hopefully they finish them and get them shipped back before the end of the year. Same with steel Tiny Tims...we shall see. In the meantime, I have a few more odds and ends to get through.

Today I have the last few CPM154 steel Wheelman tools for you. A nice little pry tool, opener and spoke wrench. We did get quite a lot of rain though and the Connecticut River is raging today. Down the hill in Turners Falls the muddy water is churning like mad as it plunges over the falls to the rocks below.

Today I have a cool batch of tools for you...these Zircuti MikroSpikes are really gorgeous. I have stamped them all with a wide variety of images, and then I played around with finishes. Some of these are brightly colored with electrical anodizing, and others have more subtle torch coloring. Fun stuff all around.

Stamped Zircuti MikroSpikes will run $95 plus shipping and the link is below. Sunny and colder, but will start raining tonight it sounds like...

Here are a few of the remaining Bronze Game Coins. These little beauties will spin for a long time on a piece of glass or in one of the concave sapphire spin tiles that are available. I think I clocked something like 9 minutes or better last time I tested them out...these have a wide variety of stamps and leather inlays, and will run $85 plus shipping. I really loved the textures that these could make in soft clay and I used them often. They were one the delightful discoveries that got me to switch from wheel throwing to hand building from slabs towards the end of my potting days.

The sea fans remind me so much of giant leaf skeletons and their classic shapes show nature's deep connection between land and sea...Anyway, I even carried them into my metal work a few years later. The silica skeletons are so tough that they can withstand some light sandblasting, so I was able to use them as stencils to create my "Snake Skin" and "Coral Reef" patterns. They eventually did fall apart but they were cool while they lasted.

Here are some small 3 x 3 inch tiles with sea fan texturing and various other stamps. They vary a lot with how much glaze is on them, some sparse, some thick and some medium, but they are all kinda cool, and there are 9 of them total. There's a small notch on the back side so they could be hung on the wall with sheetrock screw if you wish, or they would make a neat little decorative item for windowsill or garden. Tiles like these are nice for testing glazes and stamps so maybe I will think about making a few new ones this winter.

Vintage Small Tiles are $25 plus shipping and the link is below. Have a great weekend!

Sold Out, thanks so much! :)

It is going to be a very mild day here, sunny and in the 50's...I love it.

I'm almost done with Zircuti MikroSpikes, so those will be forthcoming...meanwhile I looked through my shelves and found a few other odds and ends, so I will continue the sales through the next several days. There are more kitchen magnets on the way, more beads, and various small tool batches.

Today I have some Fluted PermaCorks for you. These are the aluminum ones with OD green (actually clear, but it comes out looking olive drab for some reason) anodizing for that Surefire/Military look. These fit a wide variety of wine, beer and liquor bottles. A nice little stocking stuffer...

Fluted PermaCorks will run $45 plus shipping and the link is below. Thanks for visiting today, and hope you have a great weekend ahead!

Sold out, thank you very much!

I made several dozen of these nifty little Earring Bowls around 1999 was surprised to see there were three left! These are wheel thrown stoneware, fired in gas reduction to cone 10, so they are highly vitrified. The glaze was a Rutile Blue that has a variegated and slightly opalescent look. A perfect gift for the lady in your life who has lots of long dangling earrings...inside there is plenty of room for bracelets, hair pins, scrunchies, etc.

Earring Bowls are $55 plus shipping and there are three of them...

Gone in a flash, thank you so much!

I think I only made a few dozen of these SS Count Sporkulas way back in the day. Anyhow, these 301 Half Hard Stainless Count Sporkulas are really cool and they have a little more heft to them than titanium. Also, I do have a couple of the original design titanium ones as well kicking around if anyone wants to email me for them...and I think there are a couple of the more recent styles left too, as well as some ti Count Forkulas.

301 Half Hard Stainless Steel Count Sporkulas will run $55 plus shipping and the link is below. Thank you as always for slipping by this morning, and hope your upcoming weekend is relaxing.

All gone, thanks so much guys! :)

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-63830494437880943622023-12-13T17:15:00.001-05:002023-12-13T18:28:29.715-05:00Stamped Wroid Wedgies
Hello Folks,

Hey, how about an evening sale for a change? :D

Well the poor snow plow guys haven't made a dime yet this year. It is still quite mild and will stay that way right through Christmas it appears...I will take it, although some of the cold weather trees on our property like birches and maples will not be very happy about it if this trend continues for too many years.

I managed to get the Atomic Wedgies off to heat treat on Monday, and steel Tiny Tims just went out as well. I won't get to the steel Prybabies this year, but they are on deck for January. Steel Stubby Minibars are also still on the bench and are long overdue for finish grinding. Also coming soon will be some special ti Prybabies, and more fridge magnets are on the way as well...

Today I have some Titanium Wroid Wedgies for you! This the tail end of the batch and they are all stamped. There is a wide variety of images, as well as colors, but no plain ones remain from the first release.

Stamped Wroid Wedgies will run $75 plus shipping and the link is below. Thanks for popping in, and I hope your week is going great!

These are sold out, thank you so much!

Peter Atwoodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16246505554623368895noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30128634.post-78162051825251464882023-12-04T12:42:00.001-05:002023-12-04T13:17:41.913-05:00Crazy Fridge Magnets!
"What? Definitely some funny weather we're having this year, but at least the milder days are very welcome.

I keep picking away at the projects, but really need to get my lazy butt in gear and do some grinding this week if I want to get any more steel batches through the heat treat process before the holidays. We shall see...

Today the Prince of Forkness returns. :) I have some lovely Titanium Count Sporkulas for you... These are the second generation cap lifter version, with a fine stonewashed finish. They are a perfect light weight addition to your wallet or Go Kit, and they make for a nice little gift item as well.

Titanium Count Sporkulas will run $55 plus shipping and the link is below.
