G2 Keyton Sneak Peak

Hi Folks,

I didn't fall off the face of the earth or anything, just been busy grinding tools! I wanted to share a quick pic of the upcoming G2 Keyton. These are pretty slick I think. They kind of combine the old school Keyton design with my older Nibble design. It always bothered me that the Keyton lacked a bottle opener so I managed to get one in there on this version. These fit the hand very well and they are about the size of a full sized old school Keyton.

Anyhow, I just got done grinding these and they are in the tumbler now getting a thorough deburring. They head out for heat treat in a day or two and then it will be at least a week or two before they come back. So we're looking at early October on those.

In other news, I am grinding some steel Pests right now. I hope to get those out to heat treat next week so they will follow the Keyton batch in October.

I can't say what just yet but there are other items of great interest on the way in the interim so please stay tuned! :D

Brilliant. I am quite impressed. It may not be feasible at this point, but if there is a possibility of bringing back the old (larger) Atwood stamp for this G2 keyton, that would be REALLY cool.

In a way, it looks like a radical Poltergeist the way I see it and that is sweet !
Looking forward to seeing how they clean up.
Thanks for the teaser pic..

Would it be possible to design the "beak" to fit a philips head screw?

Thanks for the look and I am looking forward to an exciting October and November!

Please, please let me catch one of these! I've been trying to beg, borrow, or steal one of the older Keytons and can't get anyone to budge.

What a great upgrade!!! Looks way better than g1. I think it looks like a t-rex ha

Cool design...

Keep the "beak" as a screwdriver, then change the tip to be a prybar and you have a winning combination -- a parrot shaped prybar/screwdriver/bottleopener.

Love these!! I hope there's plenty to go around, these are going to be a hot commodity (like all Atwoods I guess...) Any chance of seeing these in Ti at some point?

Nice. I like the side pry blade. I find I use my mini p. mostly to pry... hey opening bottles requires prying too.
Looking forward to the interim. Thanks for the tease.

Well, A bold statement, but IMO one of the best pure sculptural designs yet. that bold arc on the bottom "grip" section makes it. Beautiful.

I'm surprised no one has read your palm yet Peter.

beautiful tool! im keeping my fingers crossed for a mini g2 w/o the bottle opener and a third driver, maybe just like the g1 area 51 but with poltergeist style grinds down down one side... im just a big fan of the tiny tiny tools, like my baby the ghost

Looks like a jdr baby pacu but with superior bottle opener design and a higher leverage flathead driver. Nice.

Wow!

Great evolution of the keyton.

I don't agree with "32194"

Keyton precedes/ predates other maker's tools such as pacu...

Now just add some stamps and tumble them 'til they're buttery!

Do want!!! Hope I can swing one when the time arrives. :D

Thanks Peter for always evolving your tools. Even though the classic designs (like widgy bar - hint) are some of my faves, the newer designs always impress!

Any Roid versions in the future?

Damn! Missed the SUS on the snakebite.. was visiting a friend in New Orleans who is moving. Most of his tools were gone, but I had my G5 prybaby! Pried things, stripped wire, loosened nuts and bolts, etc... (and... opened a few brewskies...!) Thanks, Peter! Hope I can score one of these new keytons!
