Ti Whistles

I have a handful of titanium whistles left over from last year's batch which I finally have completed. There are a few plain satin and some blue anodized ones for $100 shipped. I also have a couple of tropical anodized ones for $115 shipped.

Whistles are all gone guys! I'm still sorting through the emails but I have about 50 emails and only 15 whistles so these are definitely all spoken for. Thanks.

Pingie failed me. =-[

Wouldn't have wanted the whistles, but I realize Pingie's not foolproof...

So much for Pingie--it failed me also.

Well, I got an email off early on before any comments were posted, but unfortunately not in time. :(

Back to patient waiting....

wow 50 emails in that short of time. All I can say is wow! I guess you probably will not be doing that again.

Given the huge pent-up demand for these tools, I am a bit surprised there isn't anyone out there trying to buy them up from existing owners. I am a big fan of my Atwood bike tool, but I would be seriously tempted if someone offered four to five times the purchase price.

I love the bike tool. I'd even be willing to buy another. But four or five times the price? Just too far out of my budget. Same reason I still don't have a talonite msopt. I saw one on ebay once, and as badly as I wanted it, it was just too far out of my range.

The bike tool is already expensive as it is, it just so happens that it's well worth it. (I've definitely abused mine, and it's taken it all without any sign of issue. Maybe I don't need a spare as badly as I thought.)

And even the secondary market won't help me get one of those dlc msopt at any price.
Unless you know something I don't...

Seems like you are doing some clean up around the shop. Anything else that got stuck in a cubby hole going to make it's way to your waiting follower's this week? I thought I was seeing things when I saw the whistles post... Thanks for putting 'em out there...

What is a Pingie?

Stupid Pingie ! Lucky I didn't want a whistle.

Ah well, you get what you pay for I suppose & Pingie is free and is about 3 & 1 by my count.

Now it's back to obsessively reloading pages until Boogers & MSOPTs have been & gone.

I am not particularly aiming to sell my Atwood tool, just noting surprise about the lack of a secondary market. It is a bit like BMW only making 100 cars a year, selling them for $5000 a piece. A huge crowd would gather, hoping to snap one up in the first few seconds after they became available. After that, you would expect many of the lucky few to sell the cars to people willing to pay something more like what the equilibrium market price would be.

It is the same anywhere a sharp constraint on supply exists and where prices do not rise naturally to adjust - whether you are looking at gasoline when refineries shut down but gas stations don't raise prices or excellent hand-made tools being sold on the internet.

Please wait on releasing the next batch of SOPT until next week. I'm going to be internetless!

hehehehehehehe....
it's a perfect description. do you mind if I quote you?

"It is a bit like BMW only making 100 cars a year, selling them for $5000 a piece."
-- milan describing atwood tools

That's just perfect.

aaaaaaaarrrrgggggghhhhh.....so close. :( If only my job didn't get in the way of my Atwoods... Thanks for posting these beauties, Peter - keeps us on our toes. :)

I, too, was failed by Pingie. Oh well. I hope it works when it comes time for more (M)SOPTs.

meanwhile, the folks at pingie are scratching their heads wondering why sometime this morning their server suddenly melted down without any warning. I mean one moment everything was fine, it wasn't even working hard, and then suddenly there's this smoke coming from where the server used to be....

I have a "Flat Titanium Gasbaby" and a "Stonewash Nibble" (each carried for 3 or 4 days) that I would trade for one of these new Ti whistles, if any of you who scored one would like to trade! The Ti Whistle has been pretty much the last thing Peter makes that I've wanted... and wanted... and wanted... and dang it to hell if I didn't miss today's chance!

So, if you want to trade, let me know!! (please please please please!!)

now if only there were some perfbabies collecting dust on the shelf

Heck, while we're expressing our archaeological wishes, here's hoping he'll dig up a ti KeyRambit. Or perhaps a nice damascus Imp.

Dang! just checked the weather and it's not freezing here. so much for that snowball's chances.

Maybe that secondary market will be kinder on the dlc msopts than it is on these.
hmmmm... still no freeze predicted in that weather forecast yet.

dan,
check out this thread:
http://atwoodknives.blogspot.com/2008/09/how-to-sign-up-for-rss-feed.html
it's where most of us first heard of pingie

Dan,

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=pingie

It's an RSS to Email/SMS alert.
It's free to sign up, but as you would've gathered, it failed miserably for this latest post, so be warned.

I had to see what this "pingie" stuff was all about. I created a blog and tried out the "pingie service" by adding an entry to my new blog. It worked. Albeit a bit delayed. The "pingie" website does say it is still in "beta" so maybe they were working on it yesterday. Bad timing...

I've now added and rss2email setup on a "spare" server here at work.

I should be double covered for the impending release of Boogers/MSOPTs

Fingers crossed...

ha! pingie didn't fail me after all. it was just a bit slow. Only 48 hours after the whistles posting, I got a notification on my phone.

I accosted the mail man today hoping my whistle would be here but no joy. I am sure it will be here tomorrow but the anticipation is killing me.

Three years ago, I tore out a magazine page with a picture of prybaby and a tactical whistle thinking, 'someday I gotta get me one of those...'

I finally find my way to Atwoodia only to learn that the whistles are no longer being made...probably ever...so to console myself I start aquiring other things...

I now have 2 gasbabies,
3 G3 prybabys, a SOPT (most cool),
and a Ring Thing (a little afraid to carry that for fear of what would happen if the Kydex came off, but it looks cool).

All I ever really wanted was a whistle...

On Monday I checked the blog at 20 past the hour and went to clean my basement...timing is everything...imagine my dismay...

Thanks for the great stuff, Peter...anybody wanna swap?

You feel like listing some boogers now don't you. It gives you plenty of time before the post office closes. You could stand to get them out of your shop. You would finally be done with them. ---Now when I say "awake, awake, awake" you will wake up from your sleep feeling calm and refreshed. :D

Aaron said...

Thunder and lightning here like crazy. I am just sure my power will be out next time you list something.

My kingdom for a Booger... =-P

Do you plan on releasing the plain boogers before the DLC boogers get back from the plater in a week or two?
