BigShots!

Hi Folks,

Well it's shaping up to be a great 2012 with many projects underway already. I'll be cutting more G5 Roid Prybabies soon for a late winter/early spring timeframe. The G2 Roid Keytons will be coming along in a month or so once I get off my lazy butt and resume working on them again. G2 titanium Keytons are being cut this week so those will be coming in a few weeks as well. And some of my older customers might remember a slender and hefty pry bar tool called the Wedgie...the Wedgies will be returning very soon but this time in super thick titanium. There may be a few other suprises in store too that I am not yet ready to reveal. ;)

The big news right now though is the return of that bodacious drinking tool, the BigShot. I revisited the design and gave it a facelift so that it now shares the same DNA as my Tippler shot cups. The new BigShots are the same size as the older BigShots with a 3 fluid ounce capacity but they now closely resemble the Tipplers in outward appearance. These gorgeous cups are made of passivated 303 stainless steel and they weigh in at a whopping 7.3 ounces, so nearly 1/2 lb each! They are truly awesome vessels.

The way the production cycle for the BigShots is going to work, I will be able to get about a week of machine time per month for much of the year. So approximately every month or so I'll be able to get a batch of these going. In this way I should be able to have multiple sales throughout the year for BigShots and so will be able to keep them coming. In addition, I'll also be making some in aluminum with hardcoat anodizing and perhaps some design variations may come along in time as well, we'll see how it goes. No titanium ones will be made.

So, today I have the first wave of stainless steel BigShots ready. Material costs have increased since the earlier batches two years ago so these are going to be $75 each plus shipping. Due to weight and value, international shipping will be via Express Mail only. This first wave is not huge and since many many more are coming very soon I'm going to limit these to two pieces per customer for now. As always, thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate it.

First wave is gone, thank you so much! Next ones will be up probably end of next week or early the following week.

Next to the Tippler!

Already have a couple of original bigshots so I'll be leaving these for someone who needs one!

Shame no titanium ones, that would be nice for the collection... :) (Is it a cost thing? I imagine a chunk of titanium that big would cost quite a bit - or is it the effort of drilling out all of that titanium?)

It's both. Do you want to pay $500 for a titanium shotglass? I'd hate to think what the waste alone would be worth since the last several inches of every bar goes to scrap. I'm not even sure 2 inch material is available without a license since I was under the impression it is regulated since they make nuclear reactor parts out of it.

Sweet! I've been waiting for these since I got my Tipplers this last summer - thanks, Peter!

Ti would be cool, I'm happy with the stainless, HA aluminum will be awesome! any colors? Wonder if Cerakote would leach anything into alcohol.

Have you looked into Ti pipe for Big shots and tipplers? threading or press fitting a plug or cap into one end before shaping.

Really sorry I missed these. A Bigshot would have been a great present for my oldest son who just advised me my first grandson will arrive in June. He loves the Tippler I gave him for Xmas and the other tools I have managed to snag for him.

Just curious though...will a Tippler fit inside a Bigshot?

A shot glass capable of being used in a nuclear reactor would probably be worth the 500 bucks in terms of coolness alone! :D But tbh no that would be a bit rich for me at the moment!

Keep up the great work Peter... ;)

Beautiful. My son-in-law loves my older BigShot, so now we can each have our own. Thanks, Peter!

Peter if you want to say or know, what finish will the G2 Wedgies have and will they be raw or ano. versions? Thanks for the update am looking forward to the upcoming Wedgies and Roid G2 Keytons!! Gary (<:*:>)

Very Cool :)

Images from the x10?

The Wedgies have a nice pebbly raw bar finish and will be anodized. Maybe I'll do some plain ones too but they look hot with ano.

Hey Bob, yes, both images from the X10, straight jpegs resized.

Just bas ass as always, Peter. Man, these are cool. And can't wait to try and score a Wedgie. I split wood with my steel one before it went missing (I am fairly certain my brother lost it in a deer stand). Thanks for more cool stuff!

Thanks Peter, they sound awesome!!!! Can't wait to see and get one in hand!!! Kind of a Roid Wedgie to go with the Roid G2 Keyton! Maybe a Roid Ti G2 Keyton huh Peter? Got goosebumps just imagining such possibilities!!! Gary (<:

Peter,
I'd never heard of the Wedgie, had to Google it...now I'm drooling....MUST HAVE....are all the Ti Wedgies going to be 5-inch or will you be making the other sizes? Do you plan to make steel Wedgies as well?

Peter Atwood said...

The Wedgies are neat. :) These are all going to be 4 inches long, super thick titanium. No steel this time.

Thanks Peter.

My BigShots just arrived - I must say that I'm happy that the original photos posted don't do them justice!

A wonderfully large chunk of stainless, with a beautiful matte finish.

I'm glad that I was able to purchase this time around, as I always seemed to miss other sales.

I'll be in the market for some of the tools forecast to appear over coming months!
