Blue Longslides

Howdy All,

Great day here in the northeast, a little cloudy and gloomy but it's very warm, almost t-shirt weather. A good afternoon for a sale.

Upcoming later this week will be G5 Prybabies in the Roid Edition. I just have a little finish work to do on them still. Also coming in a week or so will be a large batch of some flat G5 Prybabies. I played around with the design a little and came up with a nifty wallet version which will make for a perfect stocking stuffer.

Today I have some satin finish titanium LongSlides, anodized a beautiful blue. These are really lovely and I couldn't resist keeping a few for my own collection. They look great on pocket flashlights for example. Which reminds me, I better keep a plain one for my incoming McGizmo Mule with Nichia 119 Hi CRI. :D

Anyway, these are $25 plus shipping and the link is below:

Blue ones are gone, thank you! I will have more bronze ones coming in a week or so as well as some in stainless steel and a few aluminum.

Hah, I was hoping for some DLC or AlTin landslides to match my McGizmo AlTin Ti PD ;) Plain stain longslide will work for now though :D

Looking good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on getting a flat Prybaby. Will those be Ti?

You will definitely be able to snag one as I have made a lot of them and will have several waves. They are all stainless.

Hey Peter, how can I darken CPM 3V steel a bit?

Peter Atwood said...

Well, ferric chloride might work.

Where can I get it, or I could go around prying open and stabbing apples and oranges? :-)

Radio Shack sells it for etching circuit boards and it is what knifemakers use for etching damascus. You could soak it in vinegar, coca cola is even better piss on it for a few weeks. :D

Hmm, think I'm going to go with coke not that pee is a bad option. :-)
Thanks

hahaha, love the advice on darkening a tool!!! Good one Peter!!! Of course carrying a tool will give it a patina too! Worked on my G5 Prybaby! Gary :>)

These are phenomenal Peter, I'm bummed I missed them. That blue is awesome.

Excellent choice on the Mule as well. I have two Mules, and they are such useful lights for indoor and closeup work. Nichia 119 is a great emitter as well. When it rolls in, make sure to use it in one of your upcoming Lanslide product shots. :)

+1 for AlTiN Ti beads, that would be sooo cool!!!

Jesus, G5 Prybaby Roid Edition...MUST HAVE. I love the ordinary G5 that i have now.
BTW, the EDK is a very good knife, a little bit smaller than expected, which was good. Well done.

O GREAT!!!!! Not only did I not score one of the really cool" blue slides",I see a new must have item. Where does one buy a Mc Gizmo flash light? These thingies look awesome, an would be a perfect ac-compliment for the the TI Slides.:)

Peter, You'll warn us if you've pissed on any of the tools you send us, right? My pest looks mighty dark...
I found a post on mustard and that worked really well on one of my blades.

Love the blue lanslide by the way. I now have a trifecta.
thanks

Agreed. Never passed on an Atwood yet, but if any black anodized "Pissers" show up on the site, I'll wait it out -unless it's sharpened, that is.

This color reminds me of the blue Aeon/Nautilus that were on CPF years ago. I always wanted one of those...

I got mine and they are spectacular. Some batches of ano are great. Some, like these are almost "shimmery" in their blue. Very cool!
