Atwood Knife and Tool Museum

This is still a work in progress but I thought that having a separate site devoted exclusively to pictures might be a nice idea. This way I can post older stuff that is no longer available, stuff from the past, one of a kind things, items from my own collection, customer's pictures, etc.

Peter, an interesting and good idea. It's nice to see some of your less known work and items that might have influenced your design process.

Very very nice... thanks for sharing it with us...

Oh, man! Very nice. If only they were in stock. :) Dang.

Thanks Peter! That's so cool.

Great idea Peter! I like how you give a little history on each of the tools. I've always enjoyed browsing your galleries, and getting to read about the tools now is even better.

Fantastic, it is great to see sneak previews of your previously mentioned "new credit card and keychain knife"

love it. always like to see as many atwood pics as i can. would love to see a user contributed gallery as well!

i definitely want a matte DLC coated MSOPT :)

Anonymous said...

I have to admit, while not being a fan of coatings, the DLC SOPT's look really really nice... The bright colored cord wrap really make them pop... The matte finish makes gives them an industrial heavy tool look... I like it alot... Where is the link to buy one?

Anonymous said...

Wow.......so many exotic pieces!!

Unknown said...

I second the bright cord wrap - hint, hint...

Imagine the faces of my co-workers when i told them I wanted a DLC-coated booger! I definitely gotta get a DLC coated MSOPT. This is like waiting for a race to start or something...oh the anticipation!

Peter when are we going to see some more sales?

Thanks

I just don't want football to start again or we might be waiting another week.

All the atwood junkies are waiting for a fix. I just see them shivering on the floor of a bathroom. Without having shaved or eaten or bathed for a few day clutching their web enabled phones. Eyes squinting at the screen. There isn't any pressure though because we know when it comes it will be great.

I need a fix, man!! C'mon! =-P

few days? it's been darn near a week! but I know it's close. I can feel it. If the battery on this phone will hold out just a little longer, I'm sure I can score. just a little longer. then there'll be time for food and showers and maybe even shaving. so soon, just a little longer. still got good signal if I stay in this exact spot. just a little more. I can quit any time I want you know...

does it look like there might be anything today or can we get up from our computers? I ask not because I am looking for you to hurry up or to pressure you but just to see if it is safe for us to leave our computers.

No big releases of knives today guys. I do have a couple of RingThings and a couple of SharkTooth knives though if anyone wants to email me. I also have a few Atwrenches.

Anonymous said...

that's very tempting, especially since two of those I don't have yet. but I'm saving up my karma in hopes of a dlc booger. keeping my fingers crossed for next week. :)

Anonymous said...

Anonymous: you won't score next week either--you will be spending your time composing your next mini-novel for the comments section. The goodies will come and go and you will hit "send" and begin another--ha, ha.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for bringing us the Museum. The fantastic stuff and the insight with your drawings is fantastic.

Peter, it was great when a few weeks ago (at the beginning of your bandwidth problems) you posted a little mini schedule (this week we will have ....next week.... and etc).

Any chance we can get another of those.

Peter Atwood said...

The problem with announcing schedules is that things can change quickly and I get sidetracked. When I don't end up sticking to a schedule then I feel like I'm letting everyone down. It is in everyone's interest to just let me get to things as I get to them. Really it is. I know it's frustrating but in the end this is how some of the best stuff comes about. Like all the very cool stuff I got out to the DLCer last week when everyone was hoping I'd get the SOPThing sheaths done. Well, if I hadn't done that other prep work there wouldn't have been the DLC stuff to look forward to. I have to work when the energy is there otherwise I'm just a factory drone. Trust me, you don't want me to be a factory drone...I get surly and start calling in sick. :D

I am a different anonymous (to lazy to register for a blogger account) and I can only speak for myself but I don't want anything detracting from your creativity.

s4biturbo said...

well said Peter!! don't worry, just kick back do your thing, we will still be here!

Anonymous said...

What they said! Do your own thing, Peter! We'll just sit back in eager anticipation. :-)

Anonymous said...

Yes, PA---do your thing. We do--or can't you tell. Of course, we'll still be here. Even IF someone is put out, so to speak, they will get over it. They don't have a choice(:-) Personally, I can get used to anything---well, almost.

Anonymous said...

I forgot to mention--I think many of your "fans" would be interested to know what it takes to make your nifty stuff. I would. For example, the type of machinery, oven(s), tools, etc. How you initially lay out your ideas--on paper, in your head, etc. Just a thought. Thx again, wk.

Spoken like a true artist through and through.
Thank you peter!

So if we can't get predictions of the future, how about an occasional blow-by-blow of whatever you're up to in between releases?

You know, things like... "meant to work on sopt sheaths today, but kydex is boring so I played around with some scrap S30V on the grinder and came up with a cool new thing I can't tell you about yet" or "got the new 'son of ufo' folders back from dlc but the glowing eyes are taking forever." or "I'm holding off on releasing that new thing I hinted at, until I have a few more ready, or else the blogspot folks will have my head for melting down another server." or even "... no metal today but you should see the size of varmit I got before the tubing broke on the AlTiN'd crawdady."

You do some of this already, but as waykno suggested, more technical details would be both instructional and entertaining while we're impatiently waiting for the next chance to switch from "credit card in hand" to "stalking the mail box".
Ok, so we're easily entertained. I mean look at how many times we've watched you melting kydex on youtube!

Of course of any of this would interfere with actually getting stuff done, disregard this suggestion entirely. Except maybe the part about making new folders. ;)

Anyway, thanks for remaining a true artist and leaving the factory robots outside on the rss line. It shows in your work. Which is part of why you have this huge following to begin with. Keep up the great ideas!
