Stainless Steel Tipplers

Hi Folks,

Well, finally I have something in stock again...today I have the first wave of 303 stainless steel Tipplers ready to go. These are finely made and built to last at least 10 lifetimes. They are truly beautiful objects IMO. They have been passivated (acid washed) to remove surface iron and sulfur and that leaves them fairly neutral smelling and tasting as well as giving them a bright finish. Each Tippler holds one generous sized shot of liquid refreshment, 35ml which is 6 ml more than a standard 1 fluid oz shot.

The cost of material and labor has gone up since I made these last and so they are slightly more than the first batch that I made two years ago, $60 each plus shipping. International orders for one Tippler will ship via Priority Mail and for more than one will ship via Express Mail. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

First Wave is Sold Out, thank you!

A friend (indeed!) tipped me off, bought a set of 4. Poker will never be the same. We'll toss back our shots like kings!

Well, i said i would let these go by, but... nope, i'm going to wait. though they ARE different then the earlier ones, hummmmm.
Very nice work Peter, and i will hold off, and let someone else get a "shot" at them. I keep mine in the freezer, and they cool a generous sized shot down quickly, and keep it sippin' cool until i'm done ;)

Be careful with the freezer! You could have the famous lip or tongue sticking problem...:D

has yet to be a problem! and no dilution of the "product" as no ice is ever used.... the pleasure is worth the risk.
cheers!

Looking forwards to these :)
Thanks Peter!

Peter, any tips or concerns with engraving these as a gift?

Peter Atwood said...

Any place that does engraving should have no trouble with this. 303 stainless is a good machineable material though obviously harder than brass or aluminum.

Peter, Can these be etched on the inside to show measures of precisely 1 oz, 1/2 oz etc? If not, they still look great. R-

These are quite amazing. Glad i was able to get a couple. Thanks Peter.

I do not have a way to etch the marks inside. That's what they made your eye for though! :p :D

These look awesome Peter. Excited for all the new stuff coming too. I love how you did the border on the Tippler pic as well. Very classy!

Dig it!

Peter, they look greta. How do you make these? Are they turned from solid bar, spun, or made from a pipe with the bottom cap?

Peter Atwood said...

They turned from a solid bar of 303 stainless steel on a Hardinge TT65 turning center.

They look gorgeous Peter. I'm almost regretting passing on this one now to wait for the next thing up.

Snow?

Lazy Chemist said...

Haha, I assume you are hoping for bad weather in the northeast so Peter spends more time inside in his shop.

got mine today, it's awesome. I was going to give it as a gift but I might just have to keep it.

Peter.. is it possible to get a lid for the tipplers.. I would like to use mine as a small pill container..

I have seen others with pressuse fit lids (using o rings to keep the lid on)..

something like this..

Wow, no idea. Might be something out there that fits it but it would be pure luck.
