Rest of the Copper Lanslides

Howdy Folks,

Hope your Christmas was a fun one! We had a nice time with our family and everyone managed to get home safely just before all the snow hit and the flights were canceled.

Anyhow, I'm scrambling to get a few more sales ready before the end of the year. I'll have to shut down for a few days at New Years to catch up on paperwork and do my inventory stuff...not looking forward to that but it has to be done every year. It will be a good time to take a few days off as well and just plain take it easy.

Well today I have the end of the copper 5 flute Lanslide batch finished up. I probably won't be doing these again so this will be it for them. I will have some bronze 5 flute ones coming up next though and eventually some pure white virgin teflon ones although those might not be done until January. Lots of cool stuff is coming though so stay tuned. :)

Sold out, thanks again!

Awesome! These are beautiful. Now you got me looking forward to the bronze and white!

Peter, is there a limit on how many pieces someone can get at one time so they can't hoard them and sell them?

Peter Atwood said...

Not on Lanslides. I do that on a few other things but honestly, I don't see it as a huge problem these days.

Noooo.... Must not sleep.....

too early in the morning for us west coasters....

how long did it take this time to sell out?

Awesome! I really wanted these and am glad I was able to snag a few. Definitely not to early for us on the west coast, San Diego here...

Thanks Peter!

White teflon? I can see the Rit Dye boiling already..

Peter Atwood said...

Rit Dye? LOL, I don't think it will stick...this is the same slippery stuff that they use on folding knife washers.

It's been a long time, but can't you color Teflon R/C car wheels with boiling dye?

They always ended up lighter than expected.

I got my new copper landslide in. I see you added a line to the description card. "other materials including bronze, copper, and g10." g10 huh? That would be cool. Are you gonna start crafting things from g10? Or exclusively lanslides?

Peter Atwood said...

Yeah, I ran a few in G10 and will be doing some more if we can get the filter situation on the machine figured out. The milling dusts from the G10 ruin coolant pumps so they don't want to run anymore of it just yet but there are plans to do so. Also virgin white Teflon which I actually have here now but haven't started finshing them up yet...January projects. No, not planning anything other than these Lanslides out of G10.

Can't wait to see the G-10 ones Peter. :-) Hoping for maybe an orange one.

No more G10... sounds like my hopes of a bee Sting revival are dashed...

I only have olive G10 in that diameter rod stock.

Hello everyone, I just happened to find this site, what a ton of cool stuff, I love it and plan to make a resolution to try and get some tools this year if I'm fast enough :-) Please forgive this noob question, but what exactly does one do with a lanslide? Not knowing the answer has not dampened my desire to have one, but just curious is there an established use or do people just find uses for this cool widget that's just fun to have in your pocket? Thanks in advance and happy new year.

Thank you! Lanslides work very well as zipper pull beads for jackets and bags. Or you can tie them onto the lanyards of tools, flashlights and knives. So they are both decorative and functional.

Happy new year Peter! How's the days off going?

Happy New Year to everyone!

I just got back from my first NFL game, watching the Patriots stomp the Miami Dolphins! Wow, what a cool thing to do and I have to give a huge thanks to my stepson who so generously provided us with tickets this Christmas. :) We had AWESOME seats too...4th row back on the bottom level, right at the 15 yard line on the Visitor side. It was pretty damned incredible and I got a zillion pictures which will take weeks to go through. The only part that sucked was the dreadful traffic, took two hours of bumper to bumper to get into the place and an hour to get out of there.

Oh wow! Im not even a pats fan and I'm jealous. How does it feel to watch the future super bowl champs?

What a cool (thoughtful) gift! Too bad you couldn't take a helicopter in to avoid traffic!

Peter, I have a question that has been baffling me for awhile. I see items on ebay that I have never seen on Planet Pocket Tool. Example: Right now there are 5 flute, & rifled BRONZE landslides, & a Ti rainbow whistle, I also see items in anodized colors that I don't ever see offered for sale. Am I missing something? Thank you in advance for any info you could provide.

Peter Atwood said...

Well I did sell some rainbow ti whistles back in the early fall via a regular sale on the blog and others have gone via email. As for the Lanslides I will be releasing the rifle knurl and 5 flute bronze ones shortly as soon as I get my act together. I have tons of both patterns. Many people emailed me in the past few weeks to see what I had in stock and I have been able to complete a few and sell via email transactions but just haven't gotten enough done for a regular sale. Evidentally some of them are getting turned around...

I've been taking a couple of days off and getting the end of the year paperwork out of the way and doing my inventory. I will have regular sales again starting at the end of the week.

Well it sure takes balls to contact the man directly, have access to stuff not available for sale yet, and then spit on his face by flipping the stuff on Feebay, way to go "collectors" ...
