NutJob is Now a WingNut
It seems there might be a conflict over use of the name NutJob for my upcoming wrench tool. So in order to nip any potential problems in the bud I think I will be renaming it the WingNut.
Off the topic...congratulations, Peter, on getting the Big Shot listed in Uncrate! It's one of my favorite sites and get an update from them every day. I'd be surprised if you can keep up with the demand!
who cares about the name its a great tool that I must have. Lots of people are going to want it! Just after I get mine, mine, mine! Great design Peter as always!!:O
Whoever gave you a hard time about the NutJob, which is in the dictionary, and CANNOT be trademarked, that is if you use all Lowercase and call it the ATWOOD NutJob is one himself...and I'm refraining from the OBVIOUS JOB comment... ;)
Wrong Steven. Go to the patent database and look it up for yourself. There are several live Trademarks for it right now albeit for various non competing things.
Whoever the NUTJOB is who gave you a hard time about the name is over the edge. "Nutjob" in lowercase cannot be trademarked,it is a common English word. If you call it the ATWOOD nutjob, there is clearly no infringement, and in fact you could copyright that immediately. Somebody obviously is in need of a certain JOB! ;)
It's not about whether I could use it or not. I could. However, someone else is using it within this business and even though they are a small time guy I feel it is only right to extend the professional courtesy of finding another name. Is it more clear now? We're talking business ethics... ;)
We have to quit bothering Peter as he is grinding our new toys, so only positive and work promoting comments please! Have a nice weekend Peter!! Make use of the BigShot!!!:O

As an attorney, I'm getting a kick out of this post.
Ought to have all the aviation nerds (like myself) happy...
WingNutJob? NotNutJob? Ah well, this tool will still be better no matter what the name >:)
Call it the Pink Butterfly. Then maybe some people won't want it and I'll have a better chance : )
LOL, now that's what I call a strategy. :)

I don't care if it's called the Sissypants Clownfart- I want at least two of them! A great idea for a tool. Are you planning any with glow dots?

Gosh darn lawyers! ;) Peter, you didn't have similar issues with "big shot"?
Not to mention the original name carried a certain amount of innuendo.
very cool tool, no matter what the name turns out to be...
Well, I'm still gonna call it the NutJob. ;D
It is what it is!
Admirable professional ethics should trump legal issues any day. Case closed, next!
