Hi Everyone,
Well, tax stuff and paperwork is taken care of and now I'm back on track finishing some projects and getting others underway. This has been a highly productive couple of weeks and I have come up with a lot of new designs and some new ideas for the next few months.
First up this year will be the Business Cards. You'll recall that I had a lot of trouble with these and even after getting them "fixed" there was still a high loss rate. I will only be able to save about 1/4-1/3 of the batch and even the ones that I am able to save are not necessarily perfect. So, if you are looking for absolute precision then you should pass on this one because even though most of these tools are acceptable there are some that are a little bit off as far as the rulers are concerned. I can tell you one thing: I will not be making any ruler tools again for the foreseeable future unless I'm able to find an outfit that is more on the ball!
The Atwood Business Card combines 21 wrench functions in a single wallet sized 420 stainless steel card tool. Features include six SAE sizes: 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16. Metric sizes include 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16mm in the center set and 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15mm in the righthand set. 1/4 and 5/16 nut driver openings and 5/16 bottle opener are included. Two rulers complete the package. These are all bead blasted.
These card tools measure 3.5 x 2 inches, same size as a standard business card. They weigh 1.6 ozs and are made of heat treated 420 grade semi stainless high carbon cutlery steel with a medium glass bead finish. There are NO TITANIUM ones in this batch and no, I will not be putting a cutting edge on these. The price is $45 plus shipping and the purchase link is below:
All gone for now but a few more coming in the next day or so. Thank you!

yes, yes, yes! Happy New Year all!
OMG my 2nd Atwood! I just had a few free minutes at work, checked the blog, and it is my lucky day! Guess I should play the lottery too.
Thanks Peter, I look forward to getting this tool.

SCORE!!!! Got one!! Been hovering over the keyboard all morning!!! Nice to see a purchase link instead of sold out! Can't wait to see what else you've got coming up!!! Any hints, PLEASE!!! Thanks for such a great tool!! Gary :>)
Very cool -- thanks, Peter!
These look great, Peter. Excellent work, as always!
Happy New Year, indeed.
Paypal was a bit strange . . .would not allow for an instant transfer . . .is something up?
@ Indy Fab fan...
Yeah you ran out of money from buying Atwood tools... that's what is up :0
Argh. And I've been sitting at the computer all morning. I just didn't do a refresh...
Good thing I have plastic, then . . . scored!
How thick are these? Thanks.
They are .075" or 1.8mm thick.
Peter,
What's next... Any thing with an edge?
It's always quiet before the storm...
Very nice Peter, another winner.
Kudos.
I think what's next is the BrewDriver. This is will be a titanium tool with bottle opener and screwdriver, turned from 1/2 titanium bar stock and it will be knurled. I'm hoping to get a stamp on them too so there will be a big variety of them. Anyway, hoping to see some of them finished by the weekend if all goes well.
Blades blades blades. Dude, there's 5,000,000 knifemakers out there! :p :D LOL, there will be something this year with a sheath.
How about blasting the rulers off the melched ones & offering them at a discount? Hmmm...
I might see if a palm sander will remove the rulers and then have the cards remarked. That's if I have the stomach for it...honestly, if I break even on them I'll be happy.
Man- I missed the ABC's! HOpe I can nab one...and I am REALLY looking forward to the BREWDRIVER! Just the name caught my attention...Really hope I can get one of those too,,
BrewDriver, sounds interesting!!! Hope its not too expensive that my unemployment might cover it!! Great idea as usual Peter!! Gary :>)
Can't believe I missed this...
I'd be up for a "second" even if marked or stamped in some way to differentiate it from the "firsts".
Anything to get my hands on an Atwood tool for my EDC.
I generally frown on brewdrivers, but I think your's could be the exception! :-D
Peter,
BrewDriver great name. Can I suggest the AtwoodEdge for a future release?
Peter what do you make of this weird twitter account with all of your posts on it?
http://twitter.com/smsrss411
Matthew: I actually think it is a pretty ingenious way of getting live updates of Peter's new posts. I have just signed up to follow that account myself and, consistent with the title of the account, I have decided to have updates sent to me as SMS Text Msgs. I currently use Boxcar on the iPhone to track Peter's posts, but if this is faster, I'll switch in a heartbeat. BTW, the account was set up by the NY Bureau Chief of Wired.com -- so, he's not some random spammer. - Jerry
im hoping to get lucky to get my FIRST Attwood!

Got my ABC today and its at home in my wallet!!! I think it turned out great!!!! Great tool as always Peter !!!!!!!!! Gary :>)
