DLC WildCards

These came out so nice I'm going to have to keep one for myself. They are a beautiful matte black with black lanyards...very sharp both in looks and in edge. ;) I have a limited number so am keeping it at one per customer. They are $90 plus shipping...this batch sold out.

Sold Out, thanks!

That new background really shows off the tools. You really have some fantastic photography skills.

I was hoping the ti atwrenches were coming today but I guess I can't pass up one of these either.

Thanks Aaron! Ti Atwrenches are a ways off yet. I haven't even ground them and not sure they will get done this year or not.

I'm sorry that I have to pass on this one.. I already have a normal WildCard, and I'm short on cash:(

They look great!

Question - Do they come with a cover for the blade or is it a kydex for the whole unit?

I had an opportunity on the first Wildcards and passed. I couldn't resist this time. Great looking tool, Peter.

No cover for the blade. These are meant for wallet carry and your wallet pocket is the sheath. On the non dlc pieces I had put a piece of thick electrical tape over the edge just as a rudimentary protective measure but these dlc pieces have been oiled to bring out the color so tape will not stick.

Richard: A few people on edcforums.com have examples of homemade sheaths...some are selling their versions, I believe.

I would love to see somebody make a ti or steel beltbuckle that had a couple of rare earth magnets that held one of these on the front. Maybe I will have to try mattw on edcforums to see if he could do it.

Now I just need a Son of Prything or Bug Out Blade!

Man, I wish these were lotteries! I saw the post 45 minutes after it hit, and they were gone -- probably in less than 5 mins!

With the lotteries, I at least feel like I have a chance...

Five different tools in a six days! Five of them were a bit larger (not lottery) batches! Definitely more than one hundred beautiful pieces, maybe almost two hundreds in a six days!
It is not easy to resist some kind of greed due to the opportunity. I am more and more curious about next weeks before Christmas...
The Green Ti Nibble with its regular goldish bit would be a charming combination... What about DLC Keytons, and patterned ones maybe only in a lottery...
I know, Christmas batches are already in production, and any wishes cannot come true earlier than next year.
After all, the most exciting is always a surprise, and I do know we will see a lot of surprise batches ;-)

BSR: Actually, I think these were available for almost (if not over) an hour. I got one early on and kept refreshing just out of curiosity.

I like the mix of some lottery and some general sale. I've struck out in the lottery every time, but have scored 2 in the general sale.

Atwood fan lesson # 4: Do not take afternoon naps on Saturday or you will miss out on the fun.

...and I keep finding myself in the majority... learning about these goodies too late to dive in. Lovin' the DLC look Peter; hope I get a chance to carry one someday.
Cheers!

Great photos of the tools, Peter. Visually appealing without distracting from the tool itself. I like how the backgrounds for your tools have changed over time. Gives them a visual timeline of sorts. Just have to look at the backgrounds to know when the tools were released.

Instead of having to buy a sheath, i've read that the plastic part of an old 3.5" floppy disk works well. I'm still looking to score an atwrench so i'll have to let you know.

Is anyone willing to trade their original wildcard for a ringthing? I'm sure some of the people got one of each and didn't want to take into account that they should allow others to have one.

keep up the good work peter!

Woaaa I just had an idea what about a DLC Fancy AtWrench with Vnotch. That would be incredible

Matthew Harris said...

@ Exmasonite, actually you want to find a floppy disc with a metal cover on it, it is a light weight alloy that you can kind of shape around the wildcard, I was the discoverer of this ;)

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
