I finished up a few of the slotted Lanslides today. These have a cool striated texture on them...shiny highlights with an overall stonewashed finish. They have three slots measuring 1.5mm x 5mm, just the right size for standard small self actuating glow tubes available from Bart on CPF. This batch is very small, just three dozen of them. These were much more costly to make than the regular Lanslide series so are a little more expensive. They run $25 each plus the shipping. When these are gone I have a few more plain ones coming as well which I may anodize.

Quick question, how do the tritium vials fit into this? Would I have to glue them in or do they pop and stay in?

ReplyDeleteI have some plain ones with no striations that I will try to finish up in the morning.
ReplyDeleteThe tubes would just plop in there and then you carefully fill the slot the rest of the way with clear epoxy.

ReplyDeleteon an unrelated note, while i was in texas visiting my brother i saw a bottle for atwood's jaundice bitters. the bottle mentioned Massachusetts and said formerly made by Moses Atwood. thought that was kinda interesting. i got a picture somewhere, but not sure how good it is, if i find the picture i can try forwarding or linking it.

ReplyDeleteWeeks away still. The Dace is getting ground right now but it will take weeks to get them totally finished and through heat treat. Then it will take weeks or motnhs for sheaths. Expect them by November and maybe we'll get lucky and see them sooner. :p
