Going to be a Good Weekend

Finishing up some small stuff today. :)

OK, here's something new. This is the SharkBite variant that I had mentioned in an earlier post....called the RingLeader. Same specs as a SharkBite basically but it has a nice 3/4" diameter ring opening. This was a small test run of these and I still have a few more in the shop to grind and what not. So there will be this wave of stonewashed ones, a wave of bead blasted ones and then another very small wave in a couple of weeks. I may cut more though if the response is strong and if so will make a few little tweaks. I'd like to see the larger bottle opener of the Nibble and maybe nudge the ring to 1" diameter.

  1. Hey.....waitaminute.....ALL of your stuff is small! That's a pretty broad statement coming from you...is this one of them "reading between the lines" comments of yours again? :p

  2. One of the aspects of the triangle that I liked was that I could spin it around my finger, this new tool looks like fun.

  6. ARGH! Did I miss the 1st batch, or is this just the usual preview?

  7. Sometime tomorrow, probably after lunch. Tonight I'm going to release some stonewashed steel G2 Gasbabies.

  8. Well seems like I finally got a 3-D (i.e. non-flat) Ghostbaby after all these months. Yay :D

  9. ringed SharkTooth-->I like that idea a lot!

  10. yay, someone else calls them GhostBabies! :-) We are a cult.

    Dig the Sharkembite, homie! :-D

Getting ready for Christmas in March! Wheeeeeee!!!!

  11. I feel increasingly lucky to have snapped up one of the few bike tools produced - and increasingly frustrated that Ottawa remains mired in snow.

This is another elegant design. Nicely done.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Wait a minute, did I miss the g2 minis tonight?

    Love the ringed idea btw!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I agree, the new design is elegant. I hope the responses will encourage your future experiments!

    Plus, I want one!

  14. I have marked your site as my home page and check it often. I hope to catch this tool when it goes on sale.

  15. ... and a RingLeader too. This weekend has just proven to be heavy on my bank savings... and it's not over yet... I'm still waiting for a Sharktooth to bite my purse and deliver the final blow. Hope I can catch one of those too ;)

  16. already gone? very sad..:(

    ReplyDelete
  17. Peter, when did you post these for sale? I missed it because I didn't scroll down on the "available tools" page until just now by accident.

Maybe you could rotate new additions to the top, or at least remove the sold out items after a few days?

Or better yet, forget about monkeying with the web page and keep making your beautiful tools!

  18. Peter, are you still planning to make some Area 51 Keytons? I'm guessing they're somewhere along the production line...ooh a Keyton with Gasbaby wrench cutouts would be super wicked - just dreaming.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Jeff w/1F... Peter is sneaky like that at times hehe ^_^

I missed out on the Ringleader also but I remember him (back before the Available tools section) used to post his new tools sometimes in the "Past Work" and other sections at times lol

Very cool Peter btw! I need to snag one of these also to go along with the popper =)

  20. Aww...what happened to my lunchtime Atwood tool? That's a pretty early lunch you had Peter, unless you happened to be in Iceland when you made them available... ;D

    ReplyDelete
  21. wow how long has this been gone?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Love IT ALL!
Very lucky and hooked a ringleader this morning...
    First purchase, and totally psyched.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Peter, Any chance there will be more RingLeader's or G2 Mini Gasbabies this Weekend? Give hope to the masses...Roy

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yup, tomorrow there will be more of both probably. If not then Monday. I don't have a lot of the RingLeaders but I do have quite a few of the S30v Gasbabies coming. Also more flat ti Gasbabies...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Peter- I suspect folks are giving you a bit too much "sneaky" credit. :) Peter said, "Probably after lunch". If he finished early and wanted a break or to get to work on more stuff, that's great. (And I missed the offering so I wasn't one of the lucky few!) Another cool one Peter! Best and have a great weekend!!

  26. Arrggh! missed again...

    really like the ringleader...

  27. Thanks Peter,
Got a Gasbaby on the Sunday go-around. Looking forward to a chance at one of your tools with a blade!

  29. "If" the response is strong?

What was the last time an Atwood tool stayed in stock for more than a day? :) I'd say that's a pretty strong response in general.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Great work Peter! I wasn't able to snag one of these, but maybe I will in the future.

Keep it up! You know we love your work :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Say Peter, did you unleash that second batch of ringleaders yet? Just wondering if I should continue to keep an eye out for them.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Just received my G2 Gasbaby. That was incredibly fast shipping Peter. I'm already putting it to good use. Many thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi Peter,
Do you have any plan to make any Whistle?..I saw many cpfer/edcfer are after those but it is really hard to get one.. :(
    Just asking..:-)

    ReplyDelete
  34. No more whistles! Posted 12/29/07
Everybody was sad to hear it!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah @ $35 I would of bought 5 at least, sucks we can't get more of em! Anyway, I hope to score a stonewashed Ringleader at some point.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Peter,
I have to second the comment about fast shipping, I ordered mine at noon Saturday and received it at 10:00am Monday!! I love the ring aspect, it greatly improves the grip. I would love to see this on a sharktooth hanging around my neck in a kydex rigg!!!!!!!!!

P.S The ring is my exact ring size and fits my finger perfectly.

  37. Got my RingLeader today. Love the ring, it's got my vote. More ringed tools, especially ringed teeth ;).

    ReplyDelete
  38. Wow, Peter, you've been on fire the past couple days! You must really be cranking out things in some serious numbers to have this many tools available. Keep up the good work!

    ReplyDelete
  39. hey Peter thanks for the ringleader, i think its even more fun to play with then the BT! eh maybe its a tie!

But i have been wanting to ask if you ever planned on doing an XL version of the gasbabies?

    have a great week!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Cool! No plans for any XL prybabies at the moment...

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'll have to agree that the ringleader and the BT are a tie. Both are terribly addictive:D

    ReplyDelete
  42. hmmm.... an XL pry tool would be really really interesting... ;P

    Francesco

    ReplyDelete
  43. Peter, are you still planing to release a small batch of Area 51 Keytons some time soon? Hoping I can get my timing just right to score one.

    ReplyDelete
  44. PLEASE, release the ringleaders...PULEASE! Your killin' me!

    ReplyDelete
  45. They almost all went in the stonewashed group. I told you guys it was a teeny batch! I'm considering more though and I'm also working on a drawing of a ringed SharkTooth for up the road.... :D

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!! Ringed SharkTooth!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hi peter,
Can you release your works a little bit late, saying after lunch :D...4/5 am for western coast is too early..:(

    ReplyDelete
  48. I try to mix it up to give more people a chance. When I am in the stages of actually finishing stuff I usually work in the morning and then do a release in the afternoon. Today I did some early ones. Will try for an evening release one of these times too. But first I have to get more stuff done. :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm considering more though and I'm also working on a drawing of a ringed SharkTooth for up the road.... :D

Ringed SharkTooth!!! Are you drawing up the small ones based on the SharkTooth or the large ones based on the Bike Tool with 2 bits :D ?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Looks just like the RingLeader but has the SharkTooth kiridashi nose and the bigger bottle opener of the SharkTooth.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Looks just like the RingLeader but has the SharkTooth kiridashi nose and the bigger bottle opener of the SharkTooth. so we will have two variations of sharkteeth as well... ok let me have one of those please!!! stone wash or satin finish??? visa its everywhere i want to be!! visa loves you Mister Atwood :o

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm exploring another source for high end tumbling and I think that I am about to take a big step forward in finish quality. I'm looking forward to offering almost all of my stuff with a stonewash finish. I think it is so much nicer to hold, it's visually superior in most cases and is easier for the user to maintain. I'd still do some pieces with bead blast but I'd like to get away from it if I could.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Stone Wash to me is much nicer than bead blast, looks better, feels better, and holds up much better... i have not researched it very much but would think by now they have liquid other than water to avoid the small rust pits.. Of course i would settle for bead blast if stone washed wasnt available...excuse my english, but stone washed for me is da shit!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Peter i totally agree, and to be honest never really thought that highly of stonewashed stuff, but after playing with the ringleader(my first stonedwashed Atwood, thank you sir!) i now see why everyone is screaming!

oh and i have to throw a big fat w00t for the ringed shartooth! can't wait to get my grubby little paws on one!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Peter,

I think some of your fans would really enjoy seeing some of your drawings from the drawing/design phase of your creative process.

Past work is cool, but a top secret teaser would be even better.

Great to hear about more stonewashed tools, it's a wonderful finish for EDC "users" that live that their lives out of the bag :).

    ReplyDelete
  56. Wow! It was a good day for the Atwood site today. I feel like it was an Atwood Liquidation sale. Peter, are you doing spring cleaning around the shop?

I'm all for the stonewashed finish, but I don't like the rust look. I prefer it on the Ti goodies. I guess satin finishes are out the door?

Thanks again for taking care of us. Still impressed with the customer service. You rock!

    ReplyDelete
  57. As for rust, it will be like going from a barn to a laboratory if this works out as I think it will. Up the road I might even start fiddling with DLC or chrome but that is a long ways off for now.

    ReplyDelete
  58. A ringed shark tooth? Oh, you're killin' me man! Just don't make the Sharktooth or (Ringtooth? Teething RIng?) a mid-day release, k? :D

    ReplyDelete
  59. Chrome would make an Atwood tool snap on ish if you ask me!! dont do it Peter!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I like the idea of something in a DLC finish. Can you do DLC in something other than black? How about black anodizing. I think that would be cool. Tactical SharkToothThingy?

    ReplyDelete
  61. I dunno.....I think chrome would make for some serious EDC bling! :p hehehe....

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thumbs up for the stonewash finish.

I just upgraded from my Nibble to the Sharkbite (I find myself more at ease with this tool's extra length) but I still have to get used to the Shark's "raw" feel after getting accustomed to the Nibble's stonewashed surface.

So a stonewashing treatment for every future tool would be more than welcome by me.

(And no, I don't care about the rust).

    Francesco
