Good Morning Everyone!
Goodbye gloomy February. It has been a nasty month here in New England: gray, dreary and depressing. Luckily March is just about here and I'm looking forward to more moderate temperatures along with some melting of the snow and ice. Some brighter skies wouldn't hurt either.
So, update time....I still haven't gotten around to grinding those 3v Ghosts but I'm hoping to set aside a little time in the next week and get those going. That means we're probably 3 weeks or so away on them at this point. No worries though, there's plenty of interesting stuff coming up in the meantime so I think everyone will be quite entertained.
Today I have more of the Weevils done. This batch came back from heat treat with a very dark finish to the steel. I think they must have run them through a different tempering oven than the last ones or something. Or perhaps they were monkeying around with the temperatures in order to bring the Rockwell within specs. At any rate, I could have tumbled the heck out of them to try to achieve a brighter finish but I kind of like the more rustic style patina these have. I'd call it a Vintage finish.
This is a relatively small wavelet so I'll make it one per customer on this sale and hopefully a bunch more folks will get a shot at them this time. The Weevils run $60 plus shipping and the purchase link is below. If you don't see a link that indicates that the sale is over and they are temporarily sold out. However, I am by no means done with Weevils, there are still many more to finish in the days ahead. Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a pleasant upcoming weekend!
Vintage Weevils are gone for now thank you!
Yes!! Weevils! Thanks so much Peter.
ReplyDeleteHere's to an enjoyable Spring!
Darn! I checked the link just a few minutes ago and still missed them. Maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter! I still can't wait for the super secret tools coming up.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, Peter. I can't wait to see how these look in real life.
ReplyDeleteAny chance you'll put some prybabies up for lottery? I refuse to spend $160 on eBay to some dedicated reseller.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I missed out. By the time I checked out the post at 9:30 they were all sold out. I'll keep trying though.
ReplyDeleteAgreeing with the 160$ ebay comment.
ReplyDeleteWould really like to add a Prybaby to the collection...
Sucks to be a West Coaster at times like this!
ReplyDeleteI also checked at 9:30... when they had already sold out.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I would love an Atwood, specially a prybaby, I refuse to pay greedy ebay prices. when sales go up I am at work and unable to do any surfing.
ReplyDeletePlease give us West coasters a chance,Some of us are still in bed, I got up 10mins too late:)Appreciate it!
