Howdy Folks,
Well I'm working my tail off trying to get a few more sales in this year. I've had some unfortunate delays and setbacks this holiday season so am not getting quite as much done as I had wished but that's OK...just means there will be more items available for January. :)
Anyway, today I have some more of the Count Sporkula tools done. These are the 301 stainless steel ones. There are a couple of stonewashed pieces but most of them have a light glass bead finish on them. These are great wallet tools and would be perfect little stocking stuff type items. They run $45 each plus shipping. I'm going to limit to two per customer as the batch is sizable but not huge and I did carefully check the sales page this time to make sure the limit is set to two. My apologies for all the confusion earlier this week!
Stainless ones are gone for now, thank you so much everyone!
Very cool. Good luck to everyone else!
ReplyDeletethanks Peter .. my 1st Count Sporkulas!
ReplyDeleteNice!! Grabbed 2. One for me and one for a Christmas gift. Thanks Peter.
ReplyDeleteCurses, missed this by minutes.
ReplyDeleteawesome Peter, I'm hoping for stonewashed!
ReplyDeleteI have to ask the other fans out there. How do you keep an eye on the site for these sales? I check the site three or four times a day, and it seems that I always miss a sale. Are you all relying on dumb luck to stumble on a sale, or do you get some kind of notification?
ReplyDeleteWell I try and check as much as I can. I'm on the west coast and you kind of have to check it every hour during the day. Sometimes it's luck and other times you get on a run and catch more than one purchase link I'm on a business trip in Kennett square pa and I caught a bed bug and passed on the sporkula. So keep trying and it will happen.
DeleteSo stoked! My hubbie will be so excited! Thanks Peter!
ReplyDeleteBpw you need to add "atwood toolbook" to your facebook. If a new item comes up you will know about it fast
ReplyDeleteI wish to have some beads, a slot shot, and a whistle.
ReplyDeleteI know the secret, but cannot tell.
ReplyDeleteWhat does one have to do to get one?
ReplyDeleteNever seems to be available.
Only to see one pops up at ebay later selling for a fortune!
I give up!
Well, have you tried emailing me? I have a few left.... peter (at) atwoodknives.com
ReplyDeleteI will try the facebook suggestion. I added it a while back, but did not turn on notifications because I prefer not to get an email every time someone posts a comment, but if that is what it takes... :)
ReplyDeletethis small batch selling is absolutely crazy, unless youre glued to facebook or other notifications every minute of the day theres no chance of ever buying anything.
ReplyDeletethe designs are the best in the business imo but ive also given up on ever being able to get anything.
if enough cant be made by one man in a workshop then why are the designs licensed out to a company that can make them to meet the global demand rather than them all going to the facebook obsessed.
How dumb do you have to be? I have said over and over if you email me I may have some stuff left. People would rather sit and grouse about the way I do business than write a simple one line email. "Peter, do you have any items in stock?" Wow, that's really tough. I don't want to license my products to company X so I can make $.02 per item on their crappy quality version of my designs. There's no reason to do it. Anyone who wants something made by me can easily find it either through a simple inquiry or via the Facebook group on which many generous members will hook you up for the original cost of the item or for a small premium, no need to go to Ebay.
ReplyDeleteMy apologies Peter, I did not mean to cause trouble. I appreciate your offer to let us email you, and I will take advantage of it. Keep up the good work, you are an amazing talent.
ReplyDeleteSay IT! Bout time, Peter :)
ReplyDeleteLet's say on Monday I have enough items finished to have a sale. I do the sale and sell out of what I have done. Later in the week or maybe two months later or even a year later I am able to get a half dozen more of the same piece done. They were stragglers that needed touchups but now they are saleable. Or maybe I just plain forgot about them. This is why when people email me I will have a few more pieces sometimes in the days following a sale. There has never been a single day in the past 5 years when I haven't had SOMETHING in stock. It may not have been a knife or the specific tool you wanted but I ALWAYS have something. ALWAYS. Got it?
ReplyDeleteNo arguments here. You have been great and responsive. Your products are top notch and I appreciate that you do not send anything out the is not 100%. If someone does not like it the should look elsewhere. Grab a stamped piece of metal if you don't appreciate quality.
ReplyDeletethat approach only appeals to collectors who will buy anything no matter what it is, everyone else wont spend money, alot of money, on the pot luck of whatever you happened to have finished.
ReplyDeleteim amazed that with such apparent demand you havent addressed the biggest problem being you cant make enough of them.
if you dont want to license the designs why not just employ someone to make them in your workshop.
