So Far So Good

10:30PM It's back up! :)

We haven't lost power here and the storm seems to be moving beyond us which is a good thing and a big relief. We got about 6 inches of rain I think, never saw winds more than 35 mph. Some massive flooding going on locally on some of the smaller creeks and rivers. I'm dying to see what the Ct River looks like but probably I will play it safe and won't go out until tomorrow.

My email and site is down because the server is hosted in CT and they are without power evidentally.

  1. Great news Peter! We're all keeping our fingers & toes crossed for you to stay safe and undamaged. Will have to think of an appropriate offering to the Weather Spirits to help out ;>)

  5. I can give you a call next time we get a hurricane in the FL panhandle if you want to see what a REAL hurricane is like. Glad all is safe , I remember a hurricane in Lexington , Mass in 1961 - Lots of rain and not much wind.

  9. Peter,
We lost power here on this side of the river for 3 hours.
That was about it for us.
One of the dams above the Bridge of Flowers let go, and the water was right up to the deck.
Rumor has it the covered bridge at the Greenfield pumping station was washed away:(
Historic Deerfield is flooded as well.
I just hope that no one has been physically hurt.
Stay safe if you venture out.

  14. Good to hear that you've been relatively unscathed. I was in Philly, Boston and Portland, ME, for work this week and barely made it out Thursday afternoon to get back home to TX.

  17. while we are all anxiously waiting for Peter's next offerings. I thought that I would share a humorous incident. I asked my bride ,of 20yrs, if that was a "new" blouse? Cause we are supposed notice things like hair color changes, hair cuts, and new clothes. While not noticing weight or new wrinkles. She smiled at me and said why yes, it is a " PETER ATWOOD" do you like it?
