Howdy Everyone,
Sorry for the endless delays. There's only one of me and way too much stuff to do this time of year. Anyway, I have some of the copper Lanslides done. This is a first wave and there are more running even as we speak so a bunch more to come over the next week along with aluminum bronze. These copper Lanslides are gorgeous, with that rich reddish color and I have put them on black cord to really highlight it. Of course they will patina fairly quickly and folks can either let them go naturally or polish periodically if desired. Beautiful stuff! Additionally, the 5 Flute design seems like a really nice one to play around with for making some batches of these using different metals and other materials. :)
A word on the recent whistles...I forgot to mention that since aluminum bronze and brass look so similar in a freshly turned piece I decided to add a pinstripe to the keyring hole area to distinguish the materials. The brass whistles lack the pinstripe, the bronze have it. Now, I added the pinstripe halfway into the batch so not all the bronze whistles have it but from here on out they all will. I also did a small run of slim titanium whistles with the pinstripe just because it looks so cool and those ti whistles will be forthcoming sometime in the next week. Anyhow, hope that adds some clarity to the situation.
So, thanks for bearing with me and I'm working as fast as I can without stressing myself out completely! :)
Gone! Good grief guys! :D
Yay! In for the Win!
ReplyDeleteWOW those look great, got to get me a few of those as stocking stuffers.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all your hard work Peter!
Copper looks great Peter!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all the different metals and the 5 flute is my favorite design. Let's see... Ti, Aluminum Bronze, Copper, Brass, Stainless, Tungsten, Damascus, Silver, Nickel Silver... which metals am I forgetting, Peter? :-)
ReplyDeletePP doesn't offer me a note to seller option so, Thanks Peter!
ReplyDeleteThese look great!
Man oh man, you guys are killing me! :D Good thing I have more on the way...I think it's time to hire some holiday help. :)
ReplyDeletewhat was time on those...10 min if even that?
ReplyDeleteDang, missed out again! Work always gets in the way.
ReplyDeleteGood grief is right. I was even refreshing this morning and completely missed it.
ReplyDeleteThat's about right Isaac. Luckily I do have more of these coming like I said...I will sit down now and get these out today and maybe have time to pick up the others later this afternoon but realistically it's probably going to be Monday. Thanks so much folks! I'll be tying lanyards during football on Sunday. :D
ReplyDeleteThey do look great, sorry I missed them. Look away for a minute and they're gone...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on the pinstripe, Peter. When I put my bronze and brass whistles next to each other, I had to pause to remember which was which. I'll check to see if I have a striped bronze.
ReplyDeleterare? atwood slim bronze whistle---no pinstripe??
ReplyDeleteI wasn't planning on grabbing one, but they exceeded my expectations. Or maybe I have undiagnosed ADD... Ooo shiny! Either way very very nice Peter!
ReplyDeleteI like what Smack said tungsten or damascus would be ridiculously amazing for a lanslide. I can't speak for others, but I know I would be willing to pay more for the more expensive metals. Just a thought.
Any word on those Snakebites that are wearing out my refresh button?
Can't wait to see how these patina. Has there been will there be a copper whistle? Thanks Peter.
ReplyDeleteNo copper whistles. It's too soft for that so little teeny things like these lanslides is all I would do with it. Brass and bronze are harder so are better material for a whistle.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea if I'll get any more of the Snakebites done before the end of the year or not. I have a ton of stuff to do here and time is running short.
Definitely understood. Your working like a maniac since you kicked that flu! It's been exciting as a fan. I greatly appreciate the update on those. No rush, just eager, like a felon at a strip club.
ReplyDeletePeter, if you need help, just send a bunch to me. ;)
ReplyDeleteI can tie a passable Matthew Walker knot.
Joel
Both the copper and the blue ones are absolutely gorgeous. Sorry I missed out. Great job. Hope you and your family are enjoying the Holiday Season.
ReplyDeleteIf I go to sleep am I going to miss something today? ;P
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get to some blue Mini rifle knurl Lanslides later today. But I'm having back trouble this weekend and am in some considerable pain. I'm literally falling apart I tell ya! :D
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that! My lower back started bothering me a couple months ago. Pain down the leg and left knee has had numbness. Take it easy, it's the weekend. ;)
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself - no sense causing yourself physical harm. Unless, of course, it involves, you know, making stuff :)
ReplyDeleteHo ho ho!
Take it easy and enjoy the holidays, Peter!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great work!
Back pain is agonizing. Don't feel obligated. Whatever your working on can wait till Monday. Sales 4 out of the 5 business days this week. I agree with Rick, it's the weekend, relax.
ReplyDeleteDon't kill yourself over us.
ReplyDeleteBack pain is soo disabling, its amazing how one thing can hurt soo much and can bring anyone to thier knees.
Take is easy, we will still be here......waiting.......lurking.....and being hungry for more!!! :)
Yeah no kidding, this hurts like hell and it doesn't like standing or sitting. It was one of those stupid things too, throwing something into my car and I must have twisted and tore something that is now inflamed and pressing on a nerve. This was a couple of weeks ago for the original injury but now I've aggravated it again. What sucks too is that tomorrow I was supposed to go to CT for a family get together and I don't think I want to sit in the car for an hour each way.
ReplyDeleteWhen I have back pain, I take a pain pill and lay down till it kicks in. Im useless otherwise.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, in the future is there a chance for another gen of spanner babies or a tool with a spanner tool? I know those have been long gone. Just wondering.
Ibuprofen, tylenol and tea. :)
ReplyDeleteNo more spanners. I made quite a few and there are too many other projects these days. I can't even get to half of it as it is and as usual I have several more things up ahead that I want to do.
Peter,
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!
Sorry to hear this news. I hope your back pain is relieved quickly!
John
Check out Icy Hot patches, they really do help! I got the sleeves for my knees and i never looked back!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon and Merry Christmas!
Hey Peter hows your back?
ReplyDeleteCopper lanslide arrived today, they came out great, and may even look better with a few months of pocket time and patina.
MA to AK in three days isn't bad either!
Mine arrived today too and I agree they look great!
ReplyDeleteGot my Cu Lanslides today!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to take one into work tomorrow and experiment with a chemically applied patina..
Cool, enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteTomorrow will be an active day I think... ;)
Hope your back gets better Peter, i suffer from all kinds of pain do to my MMA days but back pain is not one of them, thank god. i know how bad that can be.
ReplyDeleteWe all love what you do but your health is more important, take care of it. i'm sure everyone will feel the same in regards of waiting for these great tools you make as long as you get better.
hope to be able to get lucky and not miss something else.... loving my bronze whistle. any chance you will make more bug out bars in the future?
Got my landslides today too and they look great. Now I just need a bronze whistle to pair with one!
ReplyDeleteThese come a little late for holiday gifts, but I got 2 to give as gifts anyway. Thanks, Peter!
