I'm still working on the new BrewDriver tools but they are very close to done. I should have the first ones finished by tomorrow. These are simple keyfob tools, turned from solid 1/2" bars of titanium and they measure 3.25" long. They feature a bottle opener and screwdriver/prytip on a diamond knurled shaft with a flat for my name stamp. The bottle opener is a two pry popper meaning it takes two shots to get the cap off but it does work fine. The screwdriver tip is the standard 1/4 wide size. A large lug style end with 1/4" hole makes getting the tool on and off the keys a very simple proposition.
I will be doing the first wave as plain pieces, no anodized colors. They look pretty cool both with and without the o-ring bumpers so I will include the o-rings and let users decide if they want them on the tool or not.
The price on these will be $70 plus shipping. I'll post a sale in the morning but right now I'm back to the grindstone, literally, for the afternoon. ;)
so cruel, I've been mashing F5 all day and we get a pre-sale post! These look VERY nice Peter.
ReplyDeleteNice tool, great looking!!!! Maybe when I get a job!!?? But right now out of my reach! Good job as always Peter!! Gary :>( :>)
ReplyDeleteLMAO I just went crazy looking for a sale link

ReplyDeleteI must agree. These are nice indeed. Fingers crossed there are enough for everone
ReplyDeleteI saw the pic, and no link, and thought that I'd missed them.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Peter, I still can't click on the purchase links or even the list of entrants link for the Atwrench sale, for some reason. Anyone else having problems?
Works from my phone, so luckily I was able to score an ABC that way. But it's so much slower.
Nice...
ReplyDeleteWow.....thus might be my favorite yet! Hope I'm able to grab one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter! Will the plain ones be blasted?
ReplyDeleteI hate to be the naysayer in the group, but I'm not a huge fan of this design. The cap-lifter isn't great (2-lifts), and the slotted screwdriver is nice, but not as useful as, say a 1/4" hex opening (with bonus double-ended bit storage inside). I understand these features would make the cost higher, but I'd rather pay for a useful tool than a pretty keychain.
ReplyDeleteI DO like the O-ring bumpers, I bet they make the tool very easy to grip.
+1 sharkytm
ReplyDeleteVery pretty looking tool, just not the "do-all" I expect from an atwood.
hmm, i wonder if you could cut a slot in the side for a bit, held in by the o-rings, and then make the hole in the lug a hex opening?
ReplyDeletebtw, o-ring bumpers are great cushioning for key-chain carry. they work great on my superbug...
ReplyDeleteI'm with sharkytm - $70 for a bottle opener you have to use twice per bottle? I might pay $20 or $30 for a steel one, but $70 is pushing the envelope a bit too much for me.
ReplyDeletePeter-
ReplyDeleteGiven the lack of a SUS, is the plan to have a ton of these so that everyone that wants one will be able to purchase one?
I made quite a few of them. I probably will do a bunch with a light bead blast finish and anodize the others. I have a second wave on the way next week that will be a pendant version.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean pendant version peter?
ReplyDeleteI guess I can't call out dibs on the rainbow or pink one . . . these look really nice. Great job, Peter.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this new design, Peter. I'm looking forward to using mine religiously once it gets here. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, a few people that don't like this design, great more for us that do! Peter, what is the length on the pendant?
ReplyDeleteI don't have one in front of me but the pendant version is shorter. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Peter,
ReplyDeleteAny update on when these will go up? I've been waiting since 4:00 a.m. Pacific time here in the north west:)
this afternoon
ReplyDeletePeter,
ReplyDeleteHow about combining the new brewdriver and a whistle called the Breathalyzer ! Sweet
Bummer. Headed out for the weekly training ride so i'm off line for the next nine hours or so.
ReplyDeleteNice looking design, Peter. Solid looking design and the colors are stunning as always.
ReplyDeleteVery simple effective design. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAny chance this design will morph into one with a whistle on it? Or pill fob?
