  7. Hey Peter..some dude in China is selling your stuff, doesn't know the name of them and doesn't have any feedback rating and probably stole those pictures from somewhere. I was on ebay looking for a WHISTLE (hint, hint)at a reasonable price. Anybody need xmas money??

  8. I'm PryBabied out! What's next? Something different?

  9. Atwoods in China? Cough, cough can you say counterfeit? Maybe? Shut 'em down Peter, he's using your images.

  10. I don't see any Atwood whistles on Ebay.

  11. It's a left handed Chigger not a whistle!

  12. Well I'll send him an email and tell him to use his own picture. Seems a bit odd that he has two of both items. The Shiner pic is not mine btw.

  13. Zero feedback. Pretty safe to say anyone who bids on those is going to be on the wrong end of a scam.

  14. Man, is anyone original anymore? With the exception of Peter of course. ;)

  17. even worse than the obvious Chinese scammer is the guy whose has bought and sold 5 Atwoods since September.

  18. Re: Atwoods From China

"We guarantee that you will receive is the picture of the items on the goods."

This could just be poor english but it reminds me of the an early ebay scam where people had Playstations listed in electronic and some small text that you would get a picture of it. They sold a picture but led you to believe it was the actual item.

  19. The tool shown via the link above is a total pice of shit! The Hyde puddy knife I am using to spackel a wall has more soul than that piece of crap. What a laugh!!!!
Certainly the most ulgy thing I have seen...

  20. "We guarantee that you will receive is the picture of the items on the goods"

That is crazy. Someone will not get there goods, no feedback, and in China!?

Peter, have you ever shipped those tools to China?

I reported the Chigger auction for being misleading, hopefully ebay will do something about it.

No one bid on those, very sketchy.

Peter, keep up the work, here's to hoping for some new released tools!

  21. If a "picture" of a chigger sells for $45 you know you've made it Peter. Hopefully Ebay will pull the listing. Looking forward to the ABC.

  22. The piranha looks great! Did you design it? Its a steal at $49.00.

  23. It isn't the first time I've been blatantly copied and I'm sure it won't be the last. Whatever happened to originality and imagination?

  24. Sadly, skilled craftsman like yourself are a dying breed. There are very few out there who design and create each piece of art they sell, always evolving, always innovating in the way that you do. Fortunately for you, Peter, you have an army of loyal customers eagerly awaiting your original creations. I think I speak for most of us here when I say, I will not be supporting Gerber or PocketToolX by purchasing their imitations.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes, the Piranha is a blatant rip. Sad sad sad...

    ReplyDelete
  26. The Pirahna is ugly like they put Atwoods in a blender. Peter do you ever go after people that copy your stuff or is it too much hassle? Filed a fraud report on the china items on ebay wonder how that will go.

  27. Peter,
When is the Atwood Christmas tree ornament going to be released? How about this year a candy cane bottle opener? Complete with bead blasted stripes over a Stone Aged finish... :)

  28. Peter, I don't want to stir up a hornets nest here... but have you commented on Piranha by "PocketToolX" (I don't want to give them a back link, but folks can figure out where to find them online). Unless you were in touch with these folks, it troubles me much more than the Gerber product ever did...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Peter - disregard my last comment - I posted before I'd read thru the comment thread.

If the PocketToolX crowd had any savvy, they'd have an exposé on you as the hand-crafted originator of their manufactured product...

    Lame.

  30. I figured I would post this here since it was brought up earlier. I reported to ebay that the four atwoods up for sale from China were very sketchy and misleading. I decided to throw in one of the chiggers on my watch list to see what happened. I came back, clicked on the chigger and now it's a SOG knife, and a custom made knife. This guy is really trying to swindle people. Everyone please be careful, the description itself is blatantly a con artist/pure stupidity on the sellers part. Here is a link to one of the auctions, all four used to be Atwoods, people must have contacted them and they decided that raised too many eyebrows.

    Beware of seller!

  31. Matt,

Do you remember the sellers name? The auction has been removed since your post and it no longer shows...if you can post it here, that would be great!

    Peter,

Have you ever thought of making a forum? I believe you'd have a loyal user base that would like to talk about your creations on a dedicated forum, rather than in the individual sale postings like this... Just a thought!
