Next Batches

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to let you know that I am grinding and milling this week. Will have Mini Prybabies coming up next but realistically it will be about two or three weeks before completion. There will be some XL (with a bend for extra leverage) versions included in this next batch. Could be a lottery before that too... and there are also some other tools coming so stay tuned. ;)

  1. Sounds great Peter. You are going to make a lot of us very happy.

  2. Wow. Just hit refresh and though there were Mini Prybabies for sale. Heart skipped a beat. Can't wait to see how they turn out. Will they have a wrench cutout or is that sacrificed for size?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yippee finally something with a XL bend :)

    ReplyDelete
  4. Roger that...hoping for a lefty.

  5. I have some lighter stock ones with a hex hole in the body and those will likely be the XLs. I have some thicker ones also which will probably mostly be straight. These are the original Mini Keychain Prybaby design but the version that has the lanyard hole in the normal position, not the large hole version.

  6. There will be a few lefties but not a lot...when they become available those who need a lefty please email me as I will be holding them in reserve and not doing a regular sale on them.

  7. Alright good news , yippee.
Thanks for the great update peter.I love my glow baby i just received.

  8. Well, I just discovered your blog yesterday, and I really like your stuff. I am hoping to be able to buy ANYTHING that I can.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Peter, I can't wait! Sounds really great, didn't think I'd have a chance at an old school Mini Prybaby and an XL to boot!!! Thanks for the update!:P

  10. Great news! I'm looking forward to these.

  11. That chance to reserve an Atwood tool! so tempting my being a lefty--but darn I just got a Prybaby.. :)

I would love one of the mini's though!

  12. Peter, you are making a lot of ppl happy! These "new" tools sound AMAZING!

I'll take one of each please... AND I'm left handed LOL!

  13. This noob is very excited! Congrats on the fine work.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh come on, can we please get some with the larger hole? pretty please

  15. Peter,

Any chance for whistles in the near future? Also, I am a lefty and interested in the XL (desperate for one, as well as a Wingnut, something in Ti, a blade, etc). I will email you, but wanted to give you a heads up if you are at all trying to gauge demand.
Also, any chance you would be willing to make a cup with a lid that screws down? I would love to take something like that along with me to work on my bike!

    Thanks for the awesome tools!

  16. Whistles are long ago discontinued. At the moment there are no plans for anything with a screw dow lid I'm afraid...

  17. Stoked for the Prybabies.

  18. Looking forward to bidding and buying!

  19. Hey Peter, so are you done with the Ti G3 prybabys? I remember you mentioned everyone should have one by September.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Spydie, I don't know. Why don't you email me.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Just discovered your site this past week. Awesome work. Hope to snag a lefty!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Something on my wishlist is one of your edged tools in Ti. Would you ever think about doing one?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, to be honest, I regard titanium as a poor choice for edged tools. It does not hold an edge anywhere near as well as steel and it doesn't do well with kydex as it tends to scratch.

    ReplyDelete
  24. what finishes can we expect in this batch peter? Also what was the decision on more of the G3 ti's? I'm still hoping to score one of those as my first tool.

    keep up the good work!

    ReplyDelete
  25. How about some titanium blades with carbide edges along the lines of what WT and Emerson have done?

Kydex sucks anyway. Find a leather worker!

    I am a troublemaker... ;-P

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes Mr. Ian, you are a troublemaker. :p

I don't know yet about other finishes for the next batches. The steel Minis will probably be stone washed like recent batches.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I know the edge qualities aren't ideal but I'm tired of having to oil my fixer every other day do that it doesn't rust when I wear it around my neck.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Now that I have found your site, i look fwd to figuring out the method to the madness, and to picking up one of your tools. I agree about using Ti for edges, using 2 Ti blades as dive knives, always remembering to NEVER use unless a real problem develops, I keep a spyderco clipped on for general use. And yea, i look like a garage sale in the water ;)
Having almost terminated myself due to lack of a blade, I make sure to NEVER repeat that mistake.

  29. New and very impressed with your work. Like many, looking for a skeeter.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm in for 2!

Damn! Jumped the gun, I guess...

    ReplyDelete
  31. You said in the Ti G3 thread that you had plenty of the G3s coming by September and there would be enough for us all to get one. I was wondering if that is still the case since the Next Batches thread didn't mention them.
I would love to finally acquire a Ti G3 or a steel one. They are what I have been waiting for since I began following your site about a year ago. I really wouldn't mind getting 2 if possible so I can give the second as a gift for my Best Man.

Thanks in advance for the info.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I wasn't anticipating the continued huge demand on them since I had already done a couple of previous batches. So I have yet another large batch of steel ones in the works right now which will be coming along in September.

I'm only one guy and I can only make so many of these items. I have many projects going on so bear with me please. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hey, what kind of a one man operation is this? ;P

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hello Peter,

Can you give us an idea of when the Metric Wingnuts will be available and about how many.
I would love to have one. I can see it being a a very useful tool to keep with me.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The earliest that the metric WingNuts would be done would be October. I am not allowed to cut anything more until I clear the decks of the current items and there is just a crazy amount of Prybabies and other things right now in the works.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Love to here the words "Crazy amount of" when it comes to ATWOOD TOOLS!!!!! Keep it up Peter!! :P

    ReplyDelete
  37. Cool .... always wanted a Prybaby XL

    ReplyDelete
  38. Come on..........LOTTERY TIME!

    I cant wait :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Stonewash is a great finish...

    ReplyDelete
  40. How much lonbger do we have to wait? This feels like forever

    ReplyDelete
  41. Two weeks or so before the Minis are done.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am always excited to see what you are creating next.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Have you ever made the lanyard hole on the Prybabies a screwdriver bit holder? I know that the Prybabies I own have round lanyard holes but I always thought that a hexagonal bit holder would be kind of neat.

I am also curious whether the Prybabies will have the hexed notch for the cap lifter or the rounded notch (was that the G2 series?).

    ReplyDelete
  44. Toooooo long without an Atwood......Come on Peter, you have to have something laying around to run a lottery and whet our whistles.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Or Peter could make it interesting and have a stealth posting on an older blog . . . thus the casual blog lurker would not necessarily be in a better position than a diehard fanatic . . .

Please take your time. Your products are great and always worth the wait.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I promise your patience will be rewarded. :D

    ReplyDelete
  47. Patience Rewarded!!!!! HINTS we want hints!!!!! Peter I can hardly wait to see what your up to!! :P'''

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm very interested in you work. All the tools look like they have a lot of uses. This is a very interested thing to anything we buy to wear or carry all the days.

I hope i can get one early.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Any hints on when tools might be comin?

    ReplyDelete
  50. The first batch of Mini Prybabies went to tumble this past Friday. If they get them back to me with the usual turnaround of one week I will be able to start making XLs and do my name stamps over the weekend. If I get them out to heat treat and finish tumble by early next week then it will be about a week or so after that for a sale. So, the answer is, I don't know for sure but about a week and a half to two weeks.

I also got the second batch of Minis plus the smallish batch of FunnyBones out on Monday of this week to begin their first journey to tumbling. So, the second batch will follow the first one by about a week. Then there will be even more stuff after that. I have tons of things going on right now, it just takes time to get these batches ground and done and going through the pipeline.

  51. Peter, thanks for the update! No wonder no new pictures on the "other site". Work, work!!!! :P Can't wait!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I hope I get lucky this time!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hanging to a "Don't Ease Me In".
Shit Dawg. It's September! What been going on!
Looking forward to your next release..thx.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hey we're almost there! The Minis went out to heat treat on Monday so hopefully by middle of next week things will pick up and I can start doing some sales again. In the meantime I am continuing to grind tools every day. It's going to get extremely busy as we get into the month.

  55. Peter, Take it easy brother dont burn yourself out.!!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yeah well, today I have no choice because my carpal tunnel is acting up in my left wrist and my left knee is giving me a hard time right now too. So I need to stay off my feet today and go easy.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thanks for the update, some exciting news. Feel better Peter!

    ReplyDelete
  58. So Peter how old are you? Only kidding, slow down some and take it a little slower! Can't have you break down on us!!!! :O

    ReplyDelete
  59. Peter,

Sorry to hear about your knee troubles. I have a similar problem after a day out in the bush hunting. I am just glad I'm not a horse.

I look forward to some metric tools in October.

    Take care.

    David

  60. Can't wait to get my first Atwood.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hi Ya Peter, watch out for the ibuprofen OD, but Seawatch (an Alaskan commercial fishing organization) recommends dosing up before a trip with up to 1200mg at a time, it has helped my carpal tunnel during halibut seasons. BUT.. not something to do for long periods of time.

Anyway, looking forward to my 1st Atwood ;)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yes, very seldom do I take any pain relievers or anti inflammatories whatsoever. I will look into the fish oil though.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yes it would be nice to actually score an Atwood from the maker himself haha. I'm spending a fortune having to buy these aftermarket PETER! lol anyways if you have any questions regarding supplements feel free to ask me, I'm sure I can help. Get better brother.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I would like to be in on the XL's. How much are they?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oooo ... excitement building ... can feel lottery coming ... may pop any second.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Well, this is gonna be an exciting week... but if you'd like a longer break than posted, I don't think anyone will truly begrudge you.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thanks. :)

The Minis will be $45 and the XLs will be $55.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Peter, take care of yourself! You really don't want to end up having surgery on your tunnels, I know someone who had that done, the tendons cut, stretched and reattached. Nasty!

On the upside, we're all going to end up with the patience of Buddha! :D
