OK, I have some of these done. They are running $85 plus shipping. I decided to take a chance with international shipping and will send them via the lesser priced Priority Mail but if you reside outside the US and wish to have it sent via Express Mail just email me. Thanks folks! :)
Sold out for now, thank you.
I got mine. These look great Peter.
ReplyDeleteSweet got one! Thanks Peter
ReplyDeleteI love the WildCard, yay I actually got one. :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo I final got something.
ReplyDeletethanks Peter!! i kind of miss these old school sales. ;-)
ReplyDeletei think my wife and my bank account likes the lotteries more though!!
Thanks Peter. That Hex hole is just crying for a DB style Tritium tube insertion. I have it here and waiting. I guess I will finally have to decide what color I am putting in.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little further along the "slippery slope" as this is my second Atwood tool. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteNeale
Got it!!!! :))
ReplyDeleteFrancesco, ITALY
Right Friggin On!!! I got one....Thamks Peter!!!
ReplyDeleteI will pass but they are terrific! Thanks Peter
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Are these one per customer? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys!
ReplyDeleteJeff, yes, I don't have all that many and they are almost all gone from the first and second waves. I'm gonna have to sharpen a bunch more to meet the ones sold today.
Got mine as well. Think I am going to make a kydex for mine, maybe something that will slide over the blade corner only.
ReplyDeleteDid the g3 with the screwdriver end make it out to heat treat with these?
ReplyDeleteThat is my not so sneaky round about way of asking about their eta.
Nope, haven't even ground those yet.
ReplyDeleteSweet, my first sharp Atwood tool!
ReplyDeletekydex be nice for coin pocket carry in jeans....but i think any kind of plastic cardholder will work too :)
ReplyDelete...and maybe an UV Ti version?
how does the regular sale work? i thought you stopped that and did lotteries now.....do i just post a comment syaing i want one?
ReplyDeleteThe only reason I stopped doing regular sales was because I took a break from the little tools for a while in order to spend some time making knives which everyone has been screaming for for the past year. Pretty soon I will be back to big batches of Prybabies and that sort of thing. But with the knives especially I wanted to give everyone a chance at them because there are so few compared to how many folks seem to want them. The lottery also works very well for one of a kind pieces or where I only make a dozen or so special ones.
ReplyDeletesounds good, some nano prybaby would also be nice...
ReplyDelete@ Aaron
ReplyDeleteYep, you better believe I'm going to light up this little beauty with a little trit tube. :)
For those late risers on the left coast do you think that you can do releases a little later so that I am not in traffic missing the fun and opportunity to spend my kids trust funds?
ReplyDeleteatomu: Quit whining. Leave to go to work earlier so you'll already be there when there's a release. I wrote a lot more after this but erased it because it was much, much less civil.
ReplyDeletebilly s.: lighten up, my comment was obviously tongue in cheek. no need to flame a fellow atwood fanboy.
ReplyDeletebtw got anything atwood you want to trade?
I have an Atwood Ringthing I would like to trade only because I am not using it(I hate it when something isn't getting used). So if you have another Atwood tool you'd like to trade that I could get some use out of then let me know. If not I'm just going to keep the little guy in my drawer. I've been using my SOPThing all the time and it is the best little user knife/prytip/bottle opener.
ReplyDeleteDear everyone, I have been trying to get my hands on a MSOPT for some time now. Would anyone want to trade one (plain SV30, DLC, whatever)? I can offer a Stonewash Nibble and a UV Ti FunnyBone.
ReplyDeleteHey anonymous email me at simeon03 at msn dot com I am interested in your Ringthing...I have a few non bladed items...who knows we might get a trade done...
ReplyDeletePeter, how about adding a 'trading post' site on Planet Pocket Tool? A local home for Atwood Tool trades might defuse some of the less popular auction site activity.
ReplyDeleteAs a start, I'll offer a mint RingThing for a mint Wildcard. Email 'bmjarnot at aol dot com' if interested...
Peter:
ReplyDelete"drbruce" has a great idea with a trading post site on Planet Pocket tool.
Would you also consider letting us collectors form an Atwood Collectors Club?
Larry Jeffries
Peter,
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it matters but I did receive the shipping info email from paypal this time. FYI
Barry
There are trading sites out there. I have traded and sold on EDC and CPF, forums the key is to sell for the same amount you bought for! Don't gouge on Ebay.
ReplyDeleteI sold a Funnybone and Atwrench today for my cost, I did not use those tools.
Why would peter want to take up his precious toll making time with a trading post and possibly hurt his own sales by allowing people to trade. I would think that simple business practice would dictate against this. Do car dealerships let customers come back on the lot and trade cars with other owners?
ReplyDeleteGood thing you're getting that hour back this Sunday Peter... You're gonna need it...
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of sites out there that cater to selling and trading Peters tools. EDC and CPF were mentioned. USN is another that has a strong following. I've even seen them on the mighty JD...
Putting a trading post here would be a mistake and a waste of Peter's time. IMHO...
He would NOT be hurting his own sales to allow people to trade on here. He sells out of everything he posts within minutes.
ReplyDeleteI don't see how this would lose him money. There are so few of anything made, if someone comes on to trade a tool for one someone else has, I think it would be ok because he doesn't lose money from that.
Guys, I just don't have the time to run a board or whatever. There are tons of boards out there where they buy/sell/trade my stuff as others have noted. But I appreciate the sentiment because I know you all mean well.
ReplyDeleteOk now that the whole "trading post" issue has been dealt with back to WildCard talk, whens the next batch???
ReplyDeletePeter & anonymous - thanks for redirecting my 'trading post' suggestion to existing forums. No need to reinvent the wheel.
ReplyDeleteMy new WildCard sheath

Can anyone guess what it is?
It is alloy, cheap and almost everyone has one somewhere in the house or office…
Ah! Its the metal slidey thing off a floppy disc. Very creative!
ReplyDeleteThat is an Awesome job, Matthew Harris!! Perfect union! Serious props for that.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Norman
Peter, any update to the boogers etc that were mentioned back on the 2nd of October ?
ReplyDeleteI thought there was a few coming, along with MSOPThings. You were working on sheaths or something ?
As far as I can tell they haven't shown up.
Just a bunch of lotteries and now wildcards.
Bait and switch ?
Yeah, bait and switch, it's all a big trick. C'mon man, get real...
ReplyDeleteLook, I have a few more Boogers coming. All will be DLC coated and all will go up via the lottery. Same with the MSOPThings, SOPTHings, BOBlades, MBOBLades and the rest of the RingThings. I don't have a lot of any of them. I'm slowly getting the cord wraps done and will be getting to sheaths soon.
Boogers have not yet been sent to the DLC platers because I'm still gathering enough items together to make a full load to send.
hey peter,
ReplyDeletethis is my fav. out of all your tools uase its really veritile anyway I really want one but missed the first ones any idea when more will be out. anytime this year?
Bait and switch? WHOA! The man is a designer/craftsman/MICRO-manufacturer! He has what he has and what his production capacity enables him to do. Given that his production capacity is related to ONE guy, I think he does a helluva job. I was very impressed with the number of wild cards that went out knowing that he had to grind and sharpen each blade. And if you're working with a 1 inch blade, that's not that easy to do! (BTW, Peter your grinding skill have improved over the years, judging on the edges of the recent MSOPT and CC knives Yes, I succumbed to eBay for an MSOPT. If you haven't got the gist by now, the man is cleaning out the shop and experimenting with finishes, textures etc. Because the output is low for these items he's using a lottery to determine the sales. I personally have not been "lucky", but hey it's his gig. Don't like it, shop someplace else.
ReplyDeleteWell said, xraysrc, though I'd like to think that the 'bait & switch' comment was tongue-in-cheek. Peter is one heck of an designer and micro manufacturer, and regularly finds time to participate in this community. Many custom makers share "what's on the bench". With Peter, we get to see the good, bad and ugly - warts and all. That's what keeps me coming back.
ReplyDeleteTime to lock up the anonymous comments back up. The "funnies" are starting to reappear...
ReplyDeleteNice knives. You never know what you can find here in Montague.
ReplyDeleteIt's too quit here at Planet Pocket Tool. I suspect that an opportunity awaits us all here shortly.
ReplyDeleteeither that or anonymous has pissed him off, and we all have to wait 'til after christmas...
ReplyDeleteBrett....I'm thinking your right, can't wait to see what is in store!!!
